Engineer leveling..

Hello CMDRs,

I need some insight, I purchased a level 2 FSD upgrade from Farseer yesterday and managed to get everything I need for level 3-5 today.

I went back to Farseer and now I have to repurchase the level 2 mod to unlock the rest, what gives?

Sounds strange... try spamming a few level one upgrades, only costs one nickel or sulphur, and see if it changes.

Hi,

I did an engine upgrade with Elvira, but no FSD upgrades. I went to Farseer for those. My ship displays having a level 2 FSD upgrade, but the upgrade is red (because I already used the materials I had to unlock it) and the next levels are locked even though I have everything I need.

Not sure how to proceed.

Just to update,

I've discovered what my issue was. I didn't realize each upgrade took 3-5 rolls to complete before the next was unlocked...off to find more arsenic!

What my very rough calculations have determined is this;

You get 34% increase if you upgrade at your current highest level. You get approximately %17 if you get an upgrade one level below your highest current level. You get 8% increase if you go 2 or move levels below your current highest level. I'm sure there are some articles out there that are more accurate than my guesstimates.

I don't think this is the case - the first upgrade I got was a level 4 one.

I have heard if you continue to donate whatever item that specific engineer needs to unlock them in the first place (bounties, meta-alloys, universal cartographics, etc) you can unlock higher level upgrades right away.
I only donated the minimum lol.
