Engineer Zachariah Nemo...needed?

I've just gone through the whole 'get friendly with the Yoru mob' to unlock this charlie. Do I need him to unlock anyone else, or can I just leave him in a pit of obscurity? I don't really care about frag cannons (yet) and Tod "don't call me Janice" McQuinn is better for multi-cannons.

You 100% need him for Palin. Grisnir is incorrect unless they've changed something and no one has mentioned it.

Dirty Drive 5 (Palin) is, to me as an engineer junky at least, essential. Plus grade 5 double shot with screening or corrosive are hugely useful.

If you want to engineer some frags he's a must. If that's not the case, he's unimportant.

Gotcha. Thanks.

I got Palin without him, although I'm not entirely sure how.

I would be suprised if you need Nemo for Palin, because i still didn't unlocked Nemo and i have DDG5 on my ships [big grin]

He really needs a buff. He must be lonely. Give him G4 PAs please Fdev, looking at the distribution, that's a nice gap for that.

Nemo is currently useless unless you run frags. You do not need him for Palin invite (I have the Palin invite and Qwent, but I haven't even got knowledge of Nemo IG). I figure with the currently useless engineers that only modify 2 modules will later have their list expended and become useful. That is my hope anyway, otherwise several of these guys don't make a lot of sense, since they're worse than the tier 1 engineers. Like Qwent, Nemo, and Dekker

Qwents saving grace is, that a trip to him is far shorter than to Hera Tani, since most ship don't need a G5 overcharged PP

This is very true. Whilst I unlocked hera tani months ago, I think out of my 13 engineered ships, 2 use pp's by her. Qwent has done all the rest as nearly always g4 or lower will suffice, and has better heat properties.

I tend to fly small ships that increase in speed as weight goes down, so EVERYTHING needs the smallest PP possible with the highest OC rollable :p. Don't make excuses for him, Qwent is as useful as a band-aid on a bullet wound.

I just did several in one bang, bought em, shipped em, rolled em, shipped em back and divvied em up.

Also, with a 40LY Asp (and thats a short jumper from what I see a lot of people making on here) nothing is really far...... I think most of my Ships have 25-30LY range (Vulture, Courier, Orca more like 38), so I will stop off somewhere and start a module/ship transfer, and then go do missions somewhere else, and hop back. You're covering 400lys in 10 jumps. Last time I played before I took a break Engineers didn't exist and I was traversing the bubble at 16LY per hop...... THEN stuff was far

I'm not saying it's hard to do or any great effort, I'm saying unless you want and enjoy crappy heat modifiers it's normally not necessary.

True enough, but it doesn't change that Qwent could have been made to be actually useful, rather than useful because of convenience of proximity and we all would be much happier for it. That dude's like a tier 1 engineer, he should trade places with Martuuk. I'm hoping maybe he is just not fully fleshed out yet and maybe he'll be the anti-thargoid weapon engineer guy or something.
