Engineering and Enhanced Performance Thrusters.

I schlepped across to Palin to get the 7A thrusters for my new Corvette DD5'ed.
While I was there, I took the opportunity to pin that blueprint.

I am now back at my home-base and was thinking about re-working my Viper Mk3.
That's fitted with EPTs which were also DD5'ed, using the old system.

I didn't want to mess with the thrusters fitted to it 'cos they're pretty good.
Fortunately, I have 3 other sets of EPTs, which are all DD5'ed, to use for experimentation.

I fitted the worst ones, clicked the "Remote Workshop" doodad and... "you currently have no modules I can work with"

Eh? [where is it]

Doesn't the Remote Workshop work legacy mod's?
Or can it not work with EPTs?

I suppose I could use the Outfitting page to strip the existing DD5 mod' off a set of EPTs to see if the Remote Workshop would work then but it'd be a bit of a waste and it'd mean I'd have to start from G1 again.

If I schlepp all the way back out to Palin, again, in my DBX and then transfer the Viper and all the EPTs across, will he be able to do the work for certain?

No you cannot, as far as I know, use Remote Workshop if your ships modules are legacy. They need to be converted first and also you don't get to pick up experimentals remotely either.

Ugh, I suppose I might have guessed.

Screw it.
I'll fly back to Merope in my DBX, buy a Viper, fly that to Palin and then have all my EPTs transferred straight to him.

*sigh* [sad]

One way around the trip: ditch the old thrusters and upgrade new ones at Felicity. The only step that really hurts this way (somewhat) is the DD3 -> DD4 roll. Felicity can also add the specials to any thruster at or below level 3.

If you don't mind the materials, you could just remove the mod in outfitting and start the engineering from scratch, but remotely.
