Engineering: Any effect on "Light Weight" mod on Light Weight Alloy basic armour?

Basically what the title says.

If I have light weight alloys can I even USE "light weight" modification on it?

You can, but since light weight alloy has a weight of 0, it will have no effect on weight.

You can always use heavy duty mod for your light weight alloy... making it stronger without making it heavier :)

You can, but you won't see any mass reduction. For lightweight armour I use a heavy duty mod - no weight penalty there either.

Odd, I would think that SOME mass would be removed since we are essentially making the HULL lighter.

Technically the lightweight alloys are not part of the hull, which is why you can replace them with a different bulkhead.

The justification would be that they are made of some super lightweight material which, although it of course has some density, is of insignificant mass compared to a multi-ton hull.
