Engineers Question on Cartographic Data and Rep

So been reading various things and am quite confused. I'll be returning to the Bubble with quite of bit of cartographic data and I know some engineers you can cash it in for rep.

My question is, I had all the engineers (except for 2) ranked up to G5 rolls before 3.0. So will cashing in cartographic data to those engineers that accept it help me in any way to grandfather my current G5 Pre 3.0 modules into the New Engineering System and get them up to 100%?

If not, then I'll just cash out the cartographic data at a single station and then go re-engineer my fleet of ships.

If so, then is there a list that shows what engineers accept Cartographic Data as I can't remember now as it's been awhile since I've been back to the Bubble...

No. Legacy modules must be converted to the new system if you want to mod them under the new system. This will set back your module(s) to the best G4 that the new system has to offer (without any of the new special effects). From there, you must* engineer the now-G4 module to 100% G5 (and you can optionally choose a special effect if your have the required materials for that special effect).
(This is what i know, not 100% sure about it.)

If you are lucky, you can raise your reputation level with the last two engineers that aren't at level 5 for you with your data, but that depends on whether they accept those data (they do if they have an Universal Cartographics Service at their base, IIRC).

Noting that for a few of the blueprints, a top G4 module might actually be better than your existing G5 anyway. (If you got really unlucky before, for some blueprints a top G2 module might be better than your existing G5, but you probably already re-rolled those...)

Yes, I was trying to say after I convert my modules they drop down a level G5-G4, G3-G2, etc. I will be getting all up to 100% in the 3.0 system. So since I had already got G5 in all but 2 engineers (which I don't use anyways), I just wanted to know if I needed to actually still increase rep or am I already set for the reputation and don't need to cash in cartographics for those engineers?

No, no need for the rep - that all stays. And with experimentals purchased with materials rather than favours, no need to re-raise it either

Ahhh perfect that's what I was trying to figure out. I probably originally worded it very confusingly. I can just cash out the data then at the first Star port then instead and then get right to the overhauling of my Bubble fleet at least (Colonia fleet will be another story as I can't add effects remotely from there and might just leave all those ships as is)...
