Newcomer / Intro Error on pressing Play

Hi everyone. Totally new to Elite Dangerous but remember the game from the 80's.

I downloaded the game today but when pressing the play button after using the Elite Dangerous launcher either there is a pause and nothing happens or there is a message which reads 'Call to DebugActiveProcess failed: 50.'

Any suggestions as to what is going wrong and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Can't wait to see the new game and play it!

I think you would be better to unistall the client and reinstall tbh.

Yep, might have been a corrupted install. hopefully a uninstall and reinstall might do the trick.
 
Thank you all for your answers. It s very nice that people come back so quickly with suggestions. Unfortunately I have uninstalled both Elite Dangerous and the combat training and then re-installed but still receiving the same error message. Do you think the site is just too busy? I will send a ticket to the support address and see if they can help.
