Escape pods from Undermining systems

Seem to be getting no credit at all for escape pods from undermining systems. Tried two so far, including the very same system in which I received credit for the last on on the list (transport power commodities to undermining systems).
The detail description says the pods will count when you scoop one up. That has not been happening.

You only get merits when you drop them off. (In your power's systems)

Pro tip: Stations in Civil Unrest seem to give you a 50% boost to merits. But don't drop off in Famines as they're the opposite.

I have a similar task to gather Black Boxes and Wreckage stuff in an Undermining system. Likewise I have the text that states that the items will count when you scoop one up. This doesn't happen for me. I offloaded the items to a Powerplay person in a fortified system and got merits for my stuff but the task was not satisfied. Feels like a bug to me.

Tried: collect pods in power signal sources, collect from pirates in nav beacon/RES. Offload pods to power contact in same system (Xi Ursae Majoris), in nearest fortified system, even in stronghold system. Zero mission progress, got merits only. This is definitely a bug.

I completed this today and confirm you need to hand them in (in the same system you found them). Power wreckage typically spawns 3-4 so i would suggest stopping at these to scoop them up.

EDIT: My description asks me to to pick them up and drop them to the local power contact. The description shown above is different, but i would suggest still trying to hand them into your local power contact in the system where you get them to see if that works.

Also, the filters can be a little confusing, for example I had to carry legislative records from a fortified to an undermining system. But ONLY an undermining system controlled by a separate power worked for me. Also, make sure you are getting them from the correct system type (under mining etc)

I had the opposite. I originally did turn them into the system I found them and got a thank you but nothing else.

Did it today by turning them in to a system under my power's control and they counted.

I have the same one as OP. The description says it counts when you pick them up in cargo bay. It does not. I only turned in 1 pod in same system to see if it would work; it does not.

I will try and deliver to a system I control.

I’m sure the person writing the text was a bit confused and forgot the “drop them off in a friendly system” text…

My weekly task told me to get some escape pods in a specific opposing faction's system. I got the pods, but i also got wanted status in the process. So I went to a friendly system of my own faction, turned them in and got no merits, and task not completed.

I guess maybe I had to turn the escape pods into my power's contact at the opposing faction's system. Doesn't make sense... but okay. 🤷‍♂️

My guess is they copy pasted and forgot to change the difference or they didn't know.

Its undermining in the system by rescuing citizens and returning them to their loved ones to make Your Power look better in the eyes of the populace than the Opposing Power...

Ya, maybe the wording should be cleaned up.

"Rescue escape pods from the Haritanis system"
- This doesn't sound like we are supposed to leave the pods in Haritanis system. Are we supposed to leave the people in we rescue in the place we rescue them from? No, it says rescue them FROM the Haritanis system.

"Collect 10 escape pods from Haritanis."
- Yep, I collected 10 escape pods from Haritanis.

"The pods will count towards your total once scooped into your vessel's cargo hold"
- Yep, did that.

Managed to complete this mission. Collected pods in target system then offload to power contact in nearby fortified system.
I'm 100% sure I did the same thing on thursday and it didn't work then, but today it worked :/

Looks like there have been some changes from Frontier’s side - the collect/deliver assignment from the same Stronghold that was impossible for me to complete (I tried several different ways of doing it) has been changed to having more generic collect/deliver locations when I checked today.

Is the target system from Thursday controlled by the same power as the system you collected from today?

I have the same problem for finding those rescue pod. I just think that is the translation in french was confuse, but as I can see here, it seem that english people was also confused with these missions.

Maybe the Frontier develloppers are also confused with these missions. At the moment my hypothesis is nobody really understand what we must do to accomplish them.

But I can explain this like an very nice immersive gameplay in a big corporation where people send order that nobody understand at all including themselves. The deep of the gameplay of this game will never cease to amaze me.

Im have a specific mission as Greasetrap42 does. Collect pods in LFT 926 deliver to Beronii. Tried deliver in power and Search and rescue in Beronii. Also tried same in LFT 926 Conclusion....Broken.
