Essential Small Mammals META-WISHLIST: No Enclosure Type Restrictions

Red Fox is accepted on this thread, due to an exception explained here. Therefore you can add it back to your List. However, I'll kindly need just one more Animal from you, in addition to the Red Fox, so your list meets the minimum of 15 Animals for it to be accepted.


Since I have already cast your votes in a previous update, for the least popular species as explained here, it would not be possible to go back and change them, because I don't remember which species I cast the votes for, as the rankings have changed now. However, I have some good news. Since your list was already fewer than the maximum and the related "Type Entries" have not received the maximum of 3 votes, I will be able to add these two additionally in the next update.

I want to make a correction to this statement. Since we already have a Fox in the game (actually two), the Type Entry for the common name "Fox" can not be opened, which means the exception to the rule does not take effect in this case. Therefore Foxes over the size limit will not be accepted, which includes the Red Fox. For a moment I replied not thinking we already have Foxes in the game.

@Pachyrhinosaurus I will need 2 new Animals from you in this case, not just one.

Meta-Wishlist has been updated! Most submissions have been accepted with the following exceptions:
1) @missconception's Asian Small-Clawed Otter and Southern Tamandua, because they exceed the size limit. The 1,5 kg claim in the Wikipedia for the Southern Tamandua is a typo, I checked both sources and their minimum limit is 3-3,5 kg. If you can find a credible source stating they range under 2 kg, I will happily accept Tamanduas of both species.
2) @missconception's second Sugar Glider entry. You have that animal twice on your list.
3) @Alkaline Andy's Tanuki, because it exceeds the size limit. If you can find a credible source stating they range under 2 kg, I will happily add it to the list.
4) @Xificayd's generic Marmot entry, because you already have a Specific Marmot on your list, 2nd one can't be generic. If you specify a certain species for the generic entry, I will happily add it in a later update.
5) @Jersey Cow you have too many Tamarins on your list, exceeding the limit of 3 per Type Entry. As always, picked the least popular 3 choices to be added to the list.

To my pleasant surprise, I found out that Raccoons (Procyon lotor) from the Florida Keys actually range 1,8-2,7 kg. Therefore this submission could be accepted, despite the animal being too large elsewhere (5-28,4 kg). Now that this Type Entry is open, users can submit other Raccoon species as well.

Also moved the Platypus to the "Animals Added in DLC" Spoiler, since it was added in the Wetlands Pack.

Update: Forgot to mention that Dik-Dik submissions are now accepted, after Type Entry "Dik-Dik" has been opened with the Silver Dik-Dik submission.

@Pachyrhinosaurus for the time being I kept your choices on the list, as a sign of good faith, thinking you will add 2 more Animals to your list. If you fail to do so after a period of time, I will have to manually remove them from the Meta-Wishlist.

I think there should be different size of tanks we can use for call mammals sometimes it just doesn't make sense building an outdoor habitat for them. Good example is nocturnal house and small mammal house.

If you wish you can still add Bats to your list, they are allowed on this thread. You are allowed to add up to 10 more Animals to your list, although not mandatory.

Can I also ask a Moderator to close this thread to further Replies? I think the thread has proved its point and can be retired to avoid being filled by choices that can also be submitted to Random Goat's thread.

I think right now what matters is what Frontier decides to do with Small Mammals that are smaller than what we have now. From there we can move forward after seeing if they will be Exhibit or Habitat, or will be included at all. That way those Choices can directly be submitted to the relevant Threads, or if we get a 3rd Category, then I can start a similar Thread again with different Rules this time.
