PvP 'Etiquette' of killing a player for PP?

That low combat rank, trader/multi-role ship is quite capable of shipping PP prep / fort goods for the enemy!

Although that's clearly true, I'd still say it's probably not good form to go about attacking the novice player in a Sidey. Chances are, they've just started the game, have tried clicking on everything, and have no idea what it means to have pledged to Aisling Duval, they just liked the picture. At the very least, explain the situation first.

The issue is people make up rules in their head that they abide by and expect everyone else to abide by. The issue of course being no-one else has a clue what your rules are! The simple solution is to be very wary about all ships in open. Unfortunately random acts of murder do tend to put people off playing open. For me a quick message depending on the situation to ask if people are up for a bit of PvP is very polite it also helps determine the difference between someone who wants to do a bit of piracy and someone who wants to blow stuff up!, However if you are playing Powerplay then all bets are off.

You did read the rest of the post after the bit you quoted, yeah?

Y'know, the bit about playing the privateer and issuing a demand that they jettison their PP cargo instead of outright destroying them?

Not that a Sidewinder can fit much PP cargo, mind. I probably just wouldn't bother, tbh.

Q: Killing others when I'm not in my faction's area increases my notoriety?

Powerplay was designed such that you can kill, with impunity, anyone from a rival power strays, or passes through the territory you are aligned to.

Do not feel guilty wiping out anyone from any rank in any ship if this is the case.
Everyone should know what the rules are, especially if they are simply trying to score the PP weapons.

I just imagine the next: My broder pledged to Winters, me to Aisling. Nothing more, just for modules. Should he/I open fire like bro/sis, you're enemy! ? Ok, I understand PP, I just never thought I should kill someone because s/he pledged to someone else. Also will never think about it.

Due to only pixels in a space game: Yes, shoot him :p

Step one. Engage brain

Step two. Engage interdictor

Step three. Interdict target (If you fail this, go straight to step 7)

Step four. Deploy hardpoints

Step five. Shoot the ever-loving **** out of whomever displeases your particular flavour of despotical turd

Step six. Disengage brain

{EMERGENCY STEP} Step seven. You have failed miserably you scrub. Why don't you just get back in the winder you scum sucking space dreg.

When I'm pledged, I get attacked for it. Sometimes by newer players that are all gung ho for power play. They are not all module shopping. If it says enemy, raise your weapon, and be ready for him to grab his friends for a counter attack. Of course I attack players just for having names that offend me, so maybe I'm a nut case.
