Holy cow this topic is still a thing. Thought for sure it would die. Anyway, there is a solution to this little war. Go into CQC/Arena and measure away. Love to see some of these hardcore PvP experts ditch the SCB stacked corvettes and pal around in a fighter. And then Eravate can be left alone and we don't need to see them in Galaxy.

"But wah-wah I wanna' fly my big ships!" ;~;

They could add all ships to CQC, with full customization and everything unlocked from Lvl 1, and it still wouldn't stop this behaviour. These donkeys just want to cause as much annoyance to other people as possible. They're not interested one bit in the balanced fight that CQC provides.

All I can say then is I'm glad that I'm not a new player. They have a hard enough time figuring the game out without being greeted by someone using the starter systems as an arena.

More I think about it more I'm convinced that once you leave the starter systems you can't get back in. Like the plotter won't let you jump there. Then it truly is a zone for new players to come to terms. Maybe have a big warning saying danger: once you leave here you will be at risk for blah blah.

Lotta grieferate salt lately (Mmmmmmm.....grieferate salt). Must not be so many new players to harass? Well don't you worry little grieferates. Dry your tears 'cause daddy carebear's gonna make everything all right. Tell me where your lurking these days and I'll do a flyby in a sidey so you can "blow" me.:p

I'd actually say this was a good idea. Once you had a ship bigger than a cobra or a higher combat rank than master a lock out would be a good idea. help new folk ease their way in. +1 to you sir

Aren't you PC? These guys are Xbox.

Going there to defend the peace is simply taking the bait. This topic wasnt a warning, it was a baited hook. Looking for the heroes of the day to go to Eravate and try to stop any bad stuff from happening, thereby giving them targets.

OMFG SOME HAS A BRAIN ON THIS FORUM!!!

None the less myself and around 30 other choose to play this way, the community believes we do not deserve to play because we utilize all game mechanics. Corvos & the Vail have never logged during combat, those that do are removed from our roster. Many say we do because an easy insult, yet co clips exist of it. Their could be few logs from EX-Corvos but they are "EX" for that reason.

As for the rest of the PvP groups i have met 4 other groups that solely play Open for PvP in the last few days. These are mostly White Night groups and that is great. As i have said before, our PvP will never take a hit. We may as well just see less gankable targets such as traders and explorers. However the groups that want to fight will continue to fight.

Even EXO being mainly a PvE group will have members hop in to fight every now and again.

What i am getting at is the player now has a choice to play around people that could possible kill them and to not. If it was my choice i would have simple added a PvP flag option in the functions menu. If the player didn't want to fight we could still see them and talk to them, But shoot them, ram them? No they would have to turn on thier PvP flag for that. I find splitting a player base a bad call for most games.

And if you sit back and look through the forums you can see that most of the threads have the same posters. Those that rarely post follow suit with Mob mentality.

You all feel like you add to the game, i think you are a disease to Elite, however we are all entitled to our own opinions. The lot of you think my kind is the disease. My kind gives as much to the game as you do, if anything we play more than you. Where you simply bounty hunt, explore, trade, smuggle and powerplay. We do all of those plus Pirate, Gank, Grief, PvP, Undermine and so on.

I actually agree that a PvE / PvP flag would be a good idea, but self confessed griefers / gankers hosting a war in the starter systems? not really an ideal remedy...

I'm not criticizing anybody's play style, simply the chosen venue for it. I always play open and have never had a griefer/forced PvP. Probably because I fly defensively and avoid confrontation. I would be crushed if PGs destroyed open as I love random player interaction. But as it stands, I no longer worry that will be the case. There are just as many apparent supporters of open as there are of PGs.
