Even the NPCs use "get rich quick" schemes!

There's a lot of hate towards people who use "get rich quick" schemes, propelling themselves towards an Anaconda in a few days or so... Personally, I'm ambivalent towards such practices; if someone wants to do it and ruin their fun, it's their choice.

But... CLEARLY this isn't something only we do... the NPCs have learned a few tricks as well! Here, take a look at this lad who was looking for work...

So... yeah, a Harmless pilot in a Fer-de-Lance? I ain't buying it! :p

Yeah...
Quite a lot of that sort of thing in the NPC bios.
Hopefully we'll one day get a somewhat expanded NPC system that includes as part of the package a somewhat more reasonable background generator :)
Be nice if the background actually meant something too - maybe a spawned mission occasionally with the type linked to the sort of background. There are so many things to try here. One day.. Maybe..

He got to elite trading and exploration rank though flying his FDL. Traded that Blue Hand Gang right to death.

It's quite possible that "clear out" he literally meant moving their stuff into their new home. The FDL might have a small cargo hold, but it's enough to fit some furniture, equipment and personal belongings and still have space for a few seats. The operation was quick and efficient, the furniture was flat packed to optimise use of space and the in-flight nutrient paste went down well as they fly to their new home.

Nah that ain't bad.. wait till you see one Harmless pilot proclaiming that his first ship was Cutter. I smell something that comes out of a male cow.

I get the impression that, because NPCs are not members of the Pilots Federation (when did that do being a minor faction btw?) that they aren't flying their own ships but hired by other organisations and it is that organisation's ship they fly.

We need the PF to have our own ships, but NPCs have not been able to afford their licence with them... or something similar.

I don't hire pilots who are obviously lying to pad out their resume. "Harmless" pilots who claim to have "blown up more pirates than they can count" or some such, get put in the ignore pile.

Obviously from a very rich family...

Just because they are unable to count past 10 doesn't make them a bad pilot, you know...
