Ever forget where you parked your ship?

So I thought I would try out my Crater Buggy for the first time and don't you know on the way back I forgot where I parked the ship!!! Was freaking out like I lost my kid or something I knew that I was heading off into the setting sun(Didn't think to look at my GPS coOrd at all) kinda remember how far I went but was having just to much fun I guess and so I thought I better save the game right there before I run out of power/air or something that I don't know about yet. Then I did a search for the problem of remembering where I parked and found the answer - sssshhhheeeewwwwie
Well I found it and it was not where I parked it- I looked there lol So when you recall the ship does it come closer(Move) or just turn on a beacon or something?
Anybody know?

Recalling makes the ship fly to you. It will spawn above you somewhere and find the nearest flat surface to park on. Note that if you have a big ship it might land a relatively long distance from you, depending on the landable terrain in the area. I recalled my Beluga yesterday and it landed what seemed like a good 2-3km away, due to me being near the edge of a large crater.

All the time.
But then I discovered that ED Market thingy auto updtes your INARA profile, so my fleet is always correct.
I can even leave little notes:
"Fix the AX build aspects and engineer the HRPs before serious use"

No but I did lost my way yesterday, was pretty much in the bubble center in a system with a star with a huge asteroid belt, was amazing. I forgot to put a bookmark and then I decided to go to Remines, I think it was around 70Ly or more from where I was. Once I got there, I wanted to go back to where I was: impossible, too many systems lmao. The feeling I had when I knew I was lost and that I could not go back was really amazing.

Look I your codex it will show your recent travel history with jumps made

Heh! Yeah, I remember doing something similar. My first long haul out in the black, about four months in (and nowhere near civilisation) I decide to try out this 'SRV' thingy I'd packed but never used. Started trundling around this moon, happy that my ship's location was constantly displayed on the scanner.

Until it wasn't. And I had no idea which direction it was. There may have been a bit of panicking until Google saved my sanity.
