Ever wondered how you found yourself sitting in the Sidewinder when you first launched the game? Maybe this will help explain it (LORE)

Haven't had a chance to watch the video but I did know how we got a sidey as its actually explained in the games manual:

Edit: just watched the video - very nicely done
Yep, the that the script right there word for word

Nicely done!

My character has her own backstory and origin, namely that she sold herself into slavery to get the money needed for admittance to the Pilots' Federation and her Sidewinder, with her remaining debt paid off when the game went live. It neatly explained where all her progress disappeared to whenever Frontier reset everyone during the Alpha, Betas, and Gamma.

Wow that's a cool backstory. I'm in the process of putting together my backstory in the next Machines 4 Hire episode. It's a mammoth undertaking and i will be using CGI to tell the story

Since this is literally the official lore backstory, it really should be integrated into the game proper. It's generic enough that it can easily accommodate other backstories, and mysterious enough to draw a new CMDR in.

I like what you did with Mr. Shadow; it really breathed life into the second part of the transmission. :)

I'm really glad you liked it, yes the text is straight out of the game manual (pilot's handbook) and would fit in brilliantly as an introduction to the game

After many years, Commander Jenner finally meets her mysterious benefactor in person. Will he be impressed with how she has capitalized on his generosity?

'So, Commander Treadway, we've given you the power to change humanity's future. We had faith in you to direct the journey of mankind and build the galaxy that we want to see. We have always had confidence in you. Now, you can share with us your grand plan, and show the way forward that you have shaped for us all.'

'LOOK, I TOOK A PICTURE OF A SHINY THING! LOOOKKKK!!!!!!!'

That's about right...

Elite has a vast open galaxy which can seem daunting, but the new CMDR experience will definitely help fledgling pilots find their way in the world. It's also inspired me to imagine what Cmdr Mach1ne’s origin story might have looked like. (i have a fully fleshed out video coming soon on that)

Have you ever wondered how you found yourself sitting in a Sidewinder when you first launched the game? Whilst the pilot's handbook tries to explain this, new players would never find it unless someone actively pointed them to it.
So I decided to make a video which should help explain it a little better, it uses voice acted CGI and edited game footage from the point of view of a new player during the initial setup phase of the game. AIso I often wondered why the game never had a character customisation screen whilst setting up the game, instead we have to wait until we are already sitting in the cockpit before we see the holome screen.

I hope you enjoy it

Hi all,

Cheating in Elite Dangerous is managed on a case by case basis. Applications used outside of Elite Dangerous that allow for full unattended automation of the game (known as botting) is not permitted. Using 3rd party applications tools to modify your game client to gain an unfair advantage is cheating (things like no-clip, full shields, insta teleports/insta-jumping, etc). Taking advantage of a bug in the live game that has not been disclosed or suppressed from being reported is exploiting.

As always, that isn't a full definitive list, and our Anti-Cheat team at Frontier has the final say on what is and what is not permitted to be used in conjunction with Elite Dangerous. You can view our current Elite Dangerous EULA here: https://www.frontierstore.net/ed-eula/

If you find hacks or cheats being used, please report the user via the ingame tools and file a customer support ticket at https://support.frontier.co.uk/ - thanks!
i wish Fdev cared as much as you
