Everything coastal/seaside/beaches/islands (?) animals pack

A scenery pack with like modular lighthouses and coastal houses could work
  • Walrus
  • Sea otter
  • Southern rockhopper Penguin
  • Green sea turtle or pelican
  • Atlantic puffin for WE
Ideally we would get like working marine mechanics so green sea turtles, manatee, fish etc could be added into an animal pack

A scenery pack. Caribbean, Mexican, Hawaiian and cold coastal pieces (Canada, pacific USA). Underwater plants, seaweed, kelps, maybe even corals and other marine invertebrates as props. New sand and grass texturas. Sand path.

About animals...

1.Sea Otter
2.Brown pelican
3.Green sea turtle
4.Walrus
5.WE exhibit: touch pools, ponds?

If fully aquatic then manatee instead of walrus for me. Would love LBP or rockhopper and the atlantic puffin but the ones above are priority to these options. Also would be ok with marine iguanas instead of the sea turtle.

I would seaside pack with

Walrus
Australian pelican
Rockhopper or fairy penguin
Sea otter
Hermit crab (e)

I also wouldn't mind a coconut crab habitat animal, a lord Howe Island stick insect exhibit or some coastal birds in tge walkthrough exhibit.

I hope that Islands pack could be a animal pack:

1. Tassie
2. Fossa
3. Kiwi or Rockhopper penguin
4. Walrus
5. Manatee
6. Anoa
7. Lar gibbon

Ex: Japanese Giant salamander
Or
WE: Pidgeons or cockatoos.

I have also saved crucial for me:
  • Echidnas for Drylands pack
  • Tree kangaroo for Rainforests pack

I think we may have grouped 2 main pack ideas into one thread
  1. Coastal
  2. Islands
If the goal is to merge the endless islands discussions and coastal discussions into one thread then this shouldn't be too much an issue

Yes, i think this as a complementary to an Islands Animal Pack.

So coastal would be scenery, Islands (keeping the trend with the "lands" animal packs) an animal pack:

1. Tasmanian Devil (Tasmania)
2. North Island Brown Kiwi (New Zealand)
3. Fossa (Madagascar)
4. Sumatran rhinoceros (lowland anoa, javan banteng or mouse deer as possible replacements) (Indonesia)
5. Southern Rockhopper penguin (LBP or blue footed bobby as possible replacements) (Antarctic and South Atlantic Islands)
6. Tanuki (Japan)
7. Tree kangaroo (if not included in another pack), possible replacement could be Victoria Crowned Pigeon (Papua - New Guinea)
8. WE: birds of paradise 😅

I'm giggling to myself a bit that my attempt to draw support for domestics derailed everyone into going to the beach, but I am a supporter of both things so -

I think that beaches/coastal lends itself more to a scenery pack than islands. Yes, there is some overlap with the aquatics pack, but not to an unworkable extent.

For Coastal I would like to see -

Walrus. It's big, obvious and reasonably popular.

Coconut crab. It's weird and different.

Pelican. Not fussy on the species. It's a bird.

If fully aquatic habitat mechanics are introduced, Manatees are very popular.

If fully aquatic mechanics for habitat animals aren't introduced, I would be willing to sacrifice a habitat animal on this pack for multiple aquatic exhibit animals both in the standard sized exhibits (like traditional aquariums) and in the walkthrough exhibits (as walkthrough underwater tunnels with sharks, rays, etc. Swimming around guests), and maybe a new touchpool exhibit/interactive as well.

For scenery. Let's finally get some horizontal wood, and two path options - a nul beach path and a clear when elevated glass path.

I have mixed feelings about a coastal pack. I think the three first animals are quite clear:

-walrus
-sea otter
-great white pelican

But then I don't know what to choose for the 4th slot. If we get fully aquatic, a sea turtle of course. The manatee would be nice, but we already have a chunk mammal with the walrus. A third penguin is another option, but not a priority for me (and two birds in a pack seems to be asking for too much hahah).

I don't see a coastal animal pack happening, since I think other biomes are a better fit for an animal pack (Highlands, woodlands, drylands...)

As for the building theme, I guess it could be something nautical with lighthouses, cliffs, boats, fishing village...

Everyone saying that sea turtles arent fully aquatic because they ones spend 0,01% of their lives hatching from or laying eggs. I mean yeah technically they could work, but i HIGHLY doubt we ever gonna see a sea turtle outside of a marine expansion

Has anyone like seen a sea turtle habitat that has them out of water in real life? I only recall sea turtles being in aquarium tanks or rescue pools

Yes back in the day SeaWorld had a sandy bank for injured sea turtles nowadays it’s more of a traditional aquarium with just the sand to breed

Yeah while they can 100% work with current game mechanics I think it'd more about the ethically of keeping a zoo habitat. And if the devs do want to be ethical people will probably co.plain like they did with the polar bear.

What's the ethical problem with them?
