Exceptional Scrambled Emission Data.. Need Advice.

First off let me start with this. Yes, I'm sure this has been posted a thousand times before but I'm having a hard time finding a decent post about it and they often use shorthand that I'm not familiar with.
So let me get to the question I came to ask. Where exactly is the best place to find Exceptional Scrambled Emission Data I've been full on data collected about 20 times now and still have only found one of these? I'm not exactly sure how to go about finding these in a better fashion that's why I came here for some advice and hopefully not some trolls or people      ing because yes instead of spending endless hours trying to sift through other forums trying to find a decent I simply asked a question myself.
Let me go ahead and thank those ahead of time who provide useful information in a decent manner and disregard the trolls.

Thank you commanders. o7

i think u can get em as mission reward, otherwise u can scan data points at certain outposts m8, higher chance for rares depending on the security

inara.cz is usefull for any info u need on it

It doesn't really tell you where just gives you a generic answer. I'm seeking a better than generic scan ships. Are there certain ships that give it more often than others when scanned? Is there a premium spot for finding those types of ships to scan? Also, I'm fairly new to the whole 2.1 update and I'm not sure what the signal source's mean or what to do for those.

you wont get that from scanning any ships, and on that link now given twice m8 the info is accurate and detailed if you take the time to read it.

u aint got 100% chance of getting it, its RNG but it does tell u most likely place to get it.

If you read the link that was given twice, twice it says location ship scanning. I'm reading the exact link given and it says locations: ship scanning, signal source, mission reward.

ok done trying to help, how u managed to even get a corvette if u cant even figure out what plenty of others have is beyond me, have a goodnight....

I got it through hard work without using exploits like most lol. Figuring out how to get a ship is easy. A generic explanation such as ship scans, signal sources and mission rewards doesn't really give anyone a good heads up. Sorry instead of wandering aimlessly I asked for a little more detail. Maybe if more people that have "figured it out" would respond to a post like this with useful information instead of links to generic information people would find things out a bit easier. It'd be nice if this was an actual community lol.

my very first suggestion was mission reward, i also told u thats how i got them, if u want someone to tell u go here to get this it aint gonna happen.

was trying to help but no longer feel like i should

No big deal about ship scans. Just lock them on, wait for scan and if RNGesus is with you "Exceptional Scrambled Emission Data" will show.
There is not "that place" where you can find them. It's absolutely random. Scan NPC's at a busy Station, check USS, search the mission boards.

Thanks, Thor, I didn't know if you got those kind of scans off bigger ships like vetters' or cutters. I was thinking about trying to find an area those are more commonly found to see if scanning those gives that kind of data more often.

Heres what Inara says:

HOW TO GET COMPONENTS

Components may be obtained in locations noted. Higher rarity components can be usually obtained from bigger and/or more dangerous ships and locations (like T9 for transportation ships, Anaconda for combat ships, well defended settlements with Data points and so on).

I know how you feel. I have my inventory stacked with the "very rare" stuff and struggle to find the all so common.
And when you finally got all you need RNGneers give you a bad roll.... its a grindfest.

Just as a note, I just picked up three Exceptional Scrambled Emission Data in Sol / Earth Orbit. Look for USS that is "Encoded Emissions (Threat Level 0) and when you go in, should be a satellite. Scan it, and you can have the best chance I've found at picking them up. Took me less than five minutes of hunting for a three pack.

I want to say when 2.1 launched originally, you got these from scanning ships with modded power plants or thrusters, but those got stripped away with the AI changes which is why most of us had a reserve but have not been able to find more very easily.

If that helps you at all, please give me a quick click for a Rep. I know how many hours I invested trying to figure this out, scanning ships from stations, combat zones, nav beacons, and dropping in every signal source I could find.

o7 Commanders. Have fun out there.
