Animals that would be fun to have.
Exhibits:
-Some kind of ant farm set-up. Siafu/driver ants (Africa) would be pretty cool as an exhibit animal, but so would bullet ants (S. America). Then again, South America is very over-represented in PZ when it comes to exhibit animals, so I would personally prefer driver ants. Bonus points that they're terrifying IRL. Basically I WANT AN ANT FARM!!
-FISH. Literally any fish, from anywhere in the world; exhibits that are aquariums would be awesome!! (LIONFISH!!)
-Any small animal that you could put into an exhibit: rabbit, parrot, etc. On a scale of 1-10, how hard would it be to give the exhibit piece a "skin" of a barred cage instead of glass?
Habitats:
-Any animal that one could put into a petting zoo: goats, rabbits, cows, pigs. Any animal that seems mundane that could be used to have a petting zoo. Perhaps having petting zoo animals could bolster education and prestige and attract families to the zoo? (And creating a buff for family appeal per "guests can enter" habitat that is in the zoo? If reputation even divides by category).
-Literally ANY animal that is currently (IRL) extinct in the wild! I'd love to be able to fictionally repopulate the wild with animals that are--IRL--extinct outside of zoos. Any time I can make the fictional world better than the real one, I'm having fun. It's also a good opportunity for users/players to learn about conservation and real-life issues.
-Whales/dolphins. While it is unethical to keep these animals in captivity IRL, and there are already mods for Orca available online, I don't see the point in not having these animals as habitat animals in-game. I know PZ is just a sim, but it is a great way to learn real-life facts and environmental/ethical issues that are facing animals; not featuring them in-game is a missed educational opportunity, IMO.
-European Badger!!
-Coyote
-Sea Turtle
-Stingray
-King Cobra (or Black Mamba)
-Great White Shark
-California Condor (though you'd probably need an aviary feature for that).
-Jaguarundi
-Ganges Shark
Overall:
-Desert animals. Sometimes, when I'm building a zoo, I like to lay it out by biome, and there aren't enough desert animals available in the game. Ideas: Dromadary camels (Bactrians are already in the game; it would be fun if they could be housed together, with or without an interspecies bonus), jackrabbits, kangaroo rats, vultures, bobcats, and bighorn sheep to name a few. The kangaroo rats would probably be better served as exhibit animals.
-Duck-billed Platypus
-any bat (Flying Fox of Australia?)
