Exploration : 77.8mil in 9 days :)

Gratz. When I have my week off I'm going to work at getting an ASP to do the same. don't mind a relaxed trip into the stars.

NICE! Glad to see exploration is making a decent income, even if it takes awhile to bring in the big haul. But I mean, that's a nice wad of credits. Might not have gotten to enjoy it on the fly like other profs, but when you come back and can be like "Gee, now what can I buy? Oh right, anything!" it must be a great feeling.

To be honest I'm a bit annoyed that I stopped where I did. I am not quite elite explorer, not quite enough for an Anaconda. Of course If I'd stayed longer and lost it all on the way back that would have been REALLY annoying.

Just noticed... My rank is Pioneer, but my Decal is Starblazer.. what's up with that?

Wow. +1 for dedication.

It took 1.5 hours to sell the data in the end.

This still needs looking into though, doesn't it? I know it's miles better than old one-at-a-time system but still problematic for pilots with pages and pages and pages of data. We need a Sell Everything option. Nobody should have to peck continuously at a button for 90 minutes to see what the next reward is. Not even Skinner's pigeons suffered that much.

But some of us like that 'congratulations commander' box. I would imagine this would take all day if you have been out for days... I tend to stooge around on the fringes for a while and at present im in synuefai region until i get fed up and head back to cash in. Ive never seen that penetrative scan thing and am intrigued...

What does amaze me is those who seem to be just whizzing through and scanning the main star but missing all the cool stuff. I suppose its because its just a step on the journey rather than the journey itself. Chapeau to all us crazy explorer types. Cant be bothered with all that fighting and gun running stuff. So last year darling...

Nice work. I am going East to the rim. Had my first earth like and black hole last night, still on 100% hull and canopy intact...

Thump up commander! Even commander Solo is impressed :D

I found my first Earth-like orbiting a neutron star. Not good for the local fauna & flora methinks.
I'm north of Sag A now, about 32k from known space, and continuing on.

I think we explorers should 'friend' each other so we can see each other's progress in the Galaxy map. I mean, that's what it's there for innit?

Sounds like a good idea :)

I've found a LOT of earthlikes around neutron stars, many more than around anything else. Need to look into if they would actually be habitable, from what I've read you get a lot of X-rays from a neutron star. They are a long way out tho compared to normal stars, around 2200 ls.

I'm trying to decide today if I can face the thought of another trip to the core (I've done two now) or If I grind out the rest of the way to elite explorer with 'normal' exploration.

BTW how did you guys got your canopy broken? Are you flying in asteroids' belts or can the heat from start actually damage the canopy besides the hull?
Yeah I need to know, I'm a wanna be explorer and I better get prepared, that's gonna be a long trip! :D

You can chose your decals in outfitting, if you gain a new rank you have to manually replace the decals, if you prefer.

Well done Cmdr, I'm almost home from a trip to the core myself, a few cracks in the canopy and hull at 72%...should be home sometime today if I stop posting on the forum and reading threads......

I am on my way back after 6 or 7 weeks of Exploring (Sagittarius A + other stuff). I was in the same Region like the op for around 3 weeks. I am bringing back Scan data of around 3000 - 3100 Neutronstars and black holes ... + 2000 other Systems (including dozens of terraformables, waterworlds and earth-likes). I hope it will bring enough for buying an Annaconda and fitting her for Exploration and get my Elite in Exploration ;)
Scanning neutronstar after neutronstar was a little bit of a grind .... to be honest ....

I think i will hit the bubble today or tomorrow - depending what interesting stuff i find on the last 5000 LY ...

There's nothing wrong with the box, but one big scrollable box with every discovered system would be more convenient and arguably more useful. Even more useful would be if the information was stored somewhere in the ship computer or galactic map, so we could retrieve it at will. For my one and only (so far) exploration trip I wanted to record all of the interesting things for which I'd got "first discoverer" status, so I ended up ShadowPlaying the UC screen interactions so I could play them back at leisure and write everything down using pencil and paper! It took ages, and that was for a journey a fraction of the size of the OP’s.
