Exploration data station sale limit

I hope someone can help, I know there is a point where the system will stop gaining influence once you sell a certain amount of exploration data, I think it's 10m?

I was wondering if that's per person or a total amount so for example can one person sell 10m exploration data, have influence go up and then other people also sell 10m worth of data and the influence still go up?

I've seen this 10M figure before but I am unsure as to its origin. My understanding is that the inf effect of explo data sales has nothing whatsoever to do with value. It is, as most aspects of the BGS are, transactional in nature. each sale counts as a transaction. more transactions than your opponents or background activity = increase in influence. There are hard limits to daily inf change based on system pop size - rather than number of cmdrs contributing. The other primary variable is traffic/directed cmdr activity.

*please note I had a long break from the game just in case my understanding is out of date!

In the absence of other commanders doing anything in the system, there's a limit of ten positive transactions per faction. You'll reach that with a single page of data (or ten systems, if you sell them one at a time)

If other commanders are also supporting other factions, then there's technically no limit, but you'll hit diminishing returns after a while. There are various tables around somewhere to let you calculate the possibilities - it can get quite complex.

But ... let's say you're trying to use the data to win an election. You have 4 days active and 3 days pending to gain the influence needed. Your data - all else equal, and assuming some other activity in the system - will have the largest effect if you sell 1/7th each day.

I've seen this 10M figure before but I am unsure as to its origin.
With the average value of a page, it's probably not a bad estimate for "10 pages", from back when it was one transaction per page and the pages were mostly honks and a few high-value scans. Someone assuming it was value based would probably see caps at around 10M of typical pages.
