Explorer could be in big trouble

I found that this might be reachable: PLOI AEG KH-C C13-0. from my perspective its 23ly more away than your current system. You should fly down then because your 1466 above the plane ;)

Thank you will certainly take a look at this.

Appreciate all the suggestions Commanders!

i was referring to the rock rats, not the fuel rats. basically a group of cmdrs could scout all landable planets for jumponium, so op knows where he can get some.

This. Contact either of them. The Fuel Rats had a rescue earlier this year, where the CMDR's SRV was destroyed after he jumped into an area that needed jumponium, and couldn't get back out. Two rats traveled to him and prospected the mats for him to scoop up with his ship. It took several days to get there and scope out the area, but we were able to get him back to safety. It's definitely something suited for the Rock Rats, so try reaching out to one of us. We'd both be willing to help if we can.

PLOI AEG GB-0 D6-6
This is the first I have heard of the thread.... I'll be taking a look at the system tonight and seeing what we can do to get someone out there. (I need a few more scans anyway, I might go me-self ) :D
Meantime... Join up at Fleet Comms for voice and text - https://discordapp.com/invite/0hKG2qb9ODixa7Iz <let us know if this doesn't work anymore>, Friend a Rat, and try to get down to half a tank and keep it between 1/4 and 1/2 full, last... Don't Panic.
.
If I've read this correctly you are in an Asp but I do not see the range (usually about a 33 Ly range for explora Asp). Similar ship range would be the best for figuring out how to get you out.

OP, you running PC or Xbox?

If PC then download & run EDDiscovery.....once loaded & run it will list all your system movements since Horizon's launch date in 2015.

From this you should be able to re-trace your movements.

If Xbox, then you can't!

But keep landing on every landable planet & search for those jumponium mats.....

....Keep us posted!

Running on PC. This is a great piece of help. Many thanks. +Rep

Question about finding jumponium mats - is it worth landing on ice and rocky planets or are the metals only likely to be found on metal rich/metallic planets?

YES. Icy planets also have a good selection of mats.
There should be 6 materials on each planet that are NOT Very Common (so... in addition to any of these: Carbon, Iron, Nickel, Phosphorus and Sulfur, you'll see 6 others).

Well I am on my way again. Moved down in the plane and used the galaxy zoom correctly. Moving down has really helped as there are now plenty of systems available. Can't explain or understand why last night I could only find systems ~500Ly away.

After the afternoon server upgrade my heat sinks were all recharged - I had two depleted. Nice.

Thanks for all the help and generous offers to look for materials for me. Greatly appreciated commanders. Fly safe everyone. Maybe I will meet some of you at Sag A*.

great you are back on track! enjoy your trip --- and note down key systems, if you are again moving into the heights or downs of the galactic plane. when you make it to sag a - going up for 3 k ly changes your picture of our galaxy for ever. but don't get stuck up there!

However I have come to a sudden dead end in that there are no systems to jump to, space is empty and full of empty space. There aren't even systems a few hundred light years away on the galaxy map. I think I need to back track and find an alternative route however I used an enhanced FSD jump at one stage and now don't have enough of one of the metals for another so I might be in big trouble.

Don't forget that a half empty fuel tank will extend your jump range. If you are not able to jump anywhere, you can still deplete the tank by using supercruise, but that is probably something on the order of 10 hours flight time.

Good to know you're on the move again. Get that EDDiscovery program up & running, it can save you hours & even days of frustration when exploring in the black, should you ever get yourself in a similar position.

Ruger_shooter : Also beware of the brown dwarf zone, around 40-60 LYs below the galactic plane (the middle co-ordinate number, y-axis, -40 to -60) no refueling there, well you hit many brown dwarves if you stay there and plot route in it. It is actually a sight if you set filter in galmap, millions of them ! :)
