Exactly the same routine for me. 43 seconds per jump, but only scanning the main star every 8-10 jumps while refuelling. If there was something interesting, I'd go and scan it.
I don't ever bother scanning the main star, just the system while I scoop enough to top off the tank. The only time I ever scan a normal star these days is when I'm flying out to a companion star to scan an orbiting planet. Might as well get that star on the way. Black holes and neutron stars - those I will stop for.
