Explorer Returns after 6 months in Deep Space Thank You Iridium Wing!!! Explorers We Are Not Alone!

So I wanted to take the time to share my experience thus far in Elite Dangerous. I returned to the bubble about a week ago after 6 months in deep space. I had never been out exploring so I decided to give it a whirl and it was amazing! yet it reached the time where I wanted to come back home and with the new npc's and added difficulties I was concerned as to losing all my hard earned data, months of playtime. This was when I was made aware of Iridium Wing ( An Elite Dangerous Player Group) This Group is dedicated to escorting returning explorers to their set destination. Now we have all for the most part heard of the Fuel Rats ( A Player Group dedicated to helping stranded commanders in the voids of space) Well Iridium Wing was nothing less than Spectacular!!

Iridium Wing had such level of professionalism and these guys really go above and beyond to keep you safe all the way till your docked at the destination of your choice. Now returning for 2.1 I was told that we could hand in the data at the engineers to further your reputation with set engineer ( Do some research as I don't believe all allow this off the back. ) Now I did not have my Engineer unlocked since I required a set alloy to be able to unlock the Engineer and well Iridium Wing to my amazement wowed me by providing the set alloys so I could reach my goal and I am utterly thankful to them for this. Now I could sit here and go into details about my own experience with Iridium Wing but I strongly believe that this is something that you must experience for yourself! and trust me you will feel safe from beginning to end. BY THE WAY THIS WAS ALL DONE IN OPEN PLAY AND THERE WAS ENOUGH FIRE POWER FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO GET SILLY [big grin] !!! (GRACIAS! , THANK YOU ! IRIDIUM WING)

Now my journey was pleasant I had never done exploration and I set out 15,000 ly to the left from sol and 20,000 ly upward towards the center or more i don't remember exact numbers towards the center to me it wasn't much about going straight rather up and down the galactic plane. I have to admit on my last month my interest in the game was starting to dwindle I was feeling the fatigue of exploration and the return home seemed as if it would take an eternity but DEATH WAS NOT AN OPTION!!! rather I put my big boy pants on shook it off and Buckyball-ed my ass back to the bubble! So if your reading this and never done exploring my humble suggestion is to wet your feet first before doing things like Beagle point or Sag A maybe 5,000 to 10,000 ly out the bubble and go up and down the galactic plane there is still plenty to see. Hit a nebula or two and test your limits before you find yourself out 60,000 lys out and the return home is months away. Another humble suggestion CQC!! CQC!! once in a while I just didn't want to explore but hell i was so far out and simply wanted to pew pew [noob] .... CQC was my savior and if you love to pew pew I highly suggest it ... during my trip my CQC Rank went from Helpless to Semi Professional my Explorer Rank went from Aimless to Ranger ( yes 6 months but work, life, ect. not gaming every day many accomplish more in less time but with all the time i was able to put in I am really happy with the results):D

So if, and I really, really want to, go out fully into the unknown these guys will help you back!

Never knew that, just wonderful.

Hat tip to Iridium Wing - be seeing you in a couple of months :)

Great thread - what was the most spectacular thing you saw?

I would say it was a system with 13 stars and the main star was rotating fast not a glitch you could see it spin on its axis in real time calmly and my assumption is that it was do the all the mass of all the stars in its close proximity. I mean I've seen a ternary star system plenty of times but this had way more around me and with the Track-ir 5 looking around from my cockpit was extremely beautiful honestly. Ringed water world was a nice find that i enjoyed as well.

Any chance you recorded the name and co-ordinates of the systems? I would love to note them down to visit.

If you want any help writing a piece for Galnet let me know. I would love to help.

That would be great I'm not much of a writer and I love the Elite community such as this player group that provide these kinds of services and I just don't feel that many people know that a Group such as Iridium Wing Exists ... So yes contact me through a pm and lets submit a piece for the galnet these guys are definitely worth it. I saw plenty of things but I don't know how to upload pictures up to this forum and mid to end voyage I had to re-install my windows losing tons of pics but i have some from then onward.

Sure. I will try and pm you tonight or tomorrow depending on when I can jump off my
Phone and ontoy laptop.

Awesome post. It's so refreshing to see the positive side of the community. It's good to finally seeing CQC get some props, it's there to numb the space madness! I personally like it too.

Kudos to the IW! You guys need a faction! ( if you don't have one in game yet)

You have to store the image somewhere like imgur.com

The format for posting a picture is (without the excessive spacing): [ i m g ]http://i.imgur.com/bJJvv7H.jpg[/ i m g ]
