Explorers Disapointment.

But lets point out one thing, every area the DW2 expedition is visiting has been visited already by a single person in a single ship.

I think you'll find there's been many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many
many many many many many many thousands of new discoveries on DW2.

I hadn't really expected such grotesque snobishness from an explorer. If you truly want to be alone maybe keep it to yourself rather than bragging about how edgy of the galaxy and lone wolf you are.

I've never really been one for package tours.

But thats the whole point, its you, your ship and thats it.

Its like Bear Grylls v Center Parcs, with some middle class dad complaining there is no chalet cleaning.

Wouldn't really interest me either, but then I run along the beach but I've never run a marathon with thousands of people. The first I find peaceful and enjoyable, the seconds is for....I'm not really sure, but I'm certain the people who take part have a good idea of what it's for. Well boo hoo :)
I prefer flying solo too, but these kinds of events only come around once in a blue moon and sometimes its good to try something different. people moan that elite game is shallow, well dw2 has been far from shallow. packed full of stuff to do - not just tagging systems and moving on to next one, but its had events, competitions, tours, science projects, photo comps, roleplay events, mountain climbing in srvs, canyon races. I've never had so many fun times in a game before but its only because of the other people taking part that feel the same and are out here enjoying a big social event while we can. we know that elite will not see anything like this again for years, so i'm glad i joined it. But i'm also like you guys, once its over i'll enjoy exploring on my own again in solo. Each to their own. You don't have to like these events or be part of them, and the good news for you guys is there wont be another event like it for you not to want to be involved in and post about, for a long long time once this one is over :p

Well said +1 rep.

I don't mind stations littering the galaxy ... but they really need to have a valid purpose for being where they are. A station near the center of the galaxy makes sense. Look at how many humans have been attracted to that supermassive blackhole. Placing a station nearby is a great way to keep an eye out for tourists from other species making the same pilgrimage.

I heard FDev weren’t going to put a shipyard there so I handed in my 80tons and quit the CG. Blaze your own trail as long as it is done how we say.

But the fact remains that I put a huge amount of effort into prep for participation in this CG, then spent eight straight days mining - not something, I promise you, that I would ever have done merely for my own amusement

At that point a computer game has become a home office job. Without pay.

I think the reason is obvious - it will be too easy for gankers to get out there in a explorer (flying in solo naturally because glorified care bears) then transport in their FDLs for clubbing explorers as they arrive

They might not need to do the journey, now you've given them that motherlode of sodium chloride to mine away at.

Isn't that what's said of Eve Online? Play to fly a starship, stay to fly a spreadsheet, quit after two years when you realise what you have is a full-time unpaid office job.

I was willing to do a job of work for eight days if it would benefit other players, but thanks to FDev's lack of the capacity to manage events like this, I was robbed of the feeling that I'd done that.

OK, I'm a big boy and I'm over it now. But a little lacking in optimism about the success of the upcoming "developer-led" events.

No need for a shipyard in the Core at all. That there is a station now is already luxury enough! There are lots of shipyards in the Bubble though I've heard. Maybe that's the place for you then? ;)

A station in Galaxy core...
In the outfitting we have hack and Recon limpets but no Research limpets..

0 upgrade to the station AFTER a CG completed at tier 10/11

which is the meaning of a CG if after all things are the same?

FDEV always prove they can't manage high profile events...
After GNOSIS and DW2 I'll stop waste time in events like this
