Explorers: Jump range isn't everything.

I have to agree, on foot combat held zero interest for me but I did want to walk around new vistas. Guess that was not meant to be. I still like exploring but it could have been so much more. Thank the lord for the racing.

If you want to visit more systems then switch to economical route plotting.

That's really odd I have no problems at all turning mine ... it may be slow but there is a sweet spot on the throttle which allows for quicker turns.
Not as quick as the Krait Phantom, AspX or DBX... all better exploration ships. But nothing beats the Conda for range at the edges of the galaxy, where it's actually needed. Mind you, most of those systems are fully explored and discovered now.

The Scarab provides access to raw materials needed for AFMU refills, FSD injections and synthesis of limpets. I wouldn't explore without one.
I have been exploring the deep black in a Sidewinder with no rover for several years. I maxed out all the mats I would ever need with the Scarab, then swapped it for a Class 2H Guardian FSD Booster before setting out.

personally i find that if i dont bring a scarab i am not likely to dig up any old tasty matured fossils along the way but to each there own i suppose
dem bones dem bones dem dried bones;)

use a type 9 also.i have no trouble from pirates either.... unless they are silly to argue with a t9 with g5 pulsers and g5 miniguns. i have no problem in turning afacing the culprit. i have also a anna and a dbx scout for small jumps (gathering dust mainly)

You can get a very good jump range even with a planetary vehicle hangar.

My current primary exploration vessel is a Diamondback Explorer, with a (2G) planetary vehicle hangar, and it has jump ranges ldn/unl/max: 71.06 / 73.62 / 79.20

Could I get a couple of LY more by removing the hangar? Sure. Is it worth it? Not really.

(Btw, why is this thread in the "PC" forum? Shouldn't it be in the "Exploration" forum?)
