As an ex-astrophysicist the use of KGB FOAM instead of (as I was taught by the late great Archie Roy) Oh Be A Fine Girl Kiss Me (he would say Gal and sometimes add 'Right Now Smack!') annoys the smegging smeg out of me.

So which do you use. And why are you wrong if you're using KGB Foam? Which sounds like a torture instrument.

I use FOG KBAM. It's stuck in my mind in a most effective way, unlike "Oh Be..." that I read about & forgot.

The meaningful info is if the star class is scoopable or not. It's place in the main sequence is of no relevance in this case.

Honestly after a couple of hours you can remember scoopable stars without tricks. I go down from dimension. OABFGKM lol.
Now let's talk about big TT that look like M i keep on almost crushing on waiting the fuel scoop to activate!!!!! Is it possible that a TT is red? Are those TT nearly igniting themself? Or are them bigger becouse they will give birth to an OAB?

I have to admit that if I stop to think about it I'm in the FOG K BAM group, but usually I no longer need a mnemonic.

I'm a niether person too. I find both to be too pedantic. I just go by colour, since that's practical: the yellower and warmer the colour the more sweet sweet hydrogen. The cooler (in terms of visible spectrum, not necessarily temperature) and less yellow, the more chance of dying in the heart of a sun. Since all I worry about is fuel scooping, that's as much as I feel I need to know. You could, of course, take up a page or two to explain otherwise, that would interest me.

<chortles> I bought my first Norton's Star Atlas way back in 1964, wherein I first encountered Oh Be A Fine Girl Kiss Me Right Now Smack, which I used for decades. KGB FOAM is more specific to this game, of course - and when your life may depend on it, short and simple is king!
