Exploring....

Greetings CMDRs!

Draseus here, I've been out in the Black for awhile now and I was wondering...

WHAT DO PEOPLE DO TO PASS THE TIME OUT HERE?

I mean, don't get me wrong, I blow 4h like *Snaps fingers* That, but I just can't handle the go***amn silence!
None/ Very Few of my friends want to listen to me ramble on about something (Probably biscuits/ whiskey) for a long time, so thats out of the question.

I mean, :):):):):):), I just can't handle the silence, I'm almost consodering turning my AI's voice back on just to hear the 3.2.1 again.

I WOULD suggest CQC, but unfortunatly i can never find a game, so i think it's not worth the effort anymore.

I find other people that exploring. I chit chat with them on party chat. If there is no one to chat with; i turn on Radio Sidewinder.

Spotify, Pandora, YouTube...all three are your friends. The in game music got really boring about 5k out, so most of the time I have the game muted while I'm jamming to some tunes.

On my trip to Sag A I started watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. It felt fitting to watch a show about exploring the galaxy while I was out exploring the galaxy.

Radio Sidewinder FTW. Though even they could add some more songs soon...

Hi, and thanks for listening! We currently have over 700 tracks that are in rotation, and are always adding more as we receive donations to do so. This month we have already added 55 new tracks to supplement the 704 we had in November... and that does not include the Christmas tracks.

In addition, we have made some changes just recently to our programming to ensure that the newer tracks are getting into the mix with regularity. Long-term listeners may also notice that the ratio of music to ads was increased slightly in favor of the music.

We also have a "bench" process where we retire individual tracks for a while. This might happen because a majority of our listeners have identified an unfavorable response to it, because I took a vote in our chat room as it was playing, or simply because it had been played too often for too long.

Music taste is very subjective, and our challenge is always to curate tracks that we feel will enhance the day-to-day galactic activities of our listeners. Please feel free to provide us feedback on specific tracks over at our website (links in my sig). We'd be happy to hear from you!

I listen to the Cooptional podcast. Also spotify. I have many different playlists designed formy exploration: Weird al yankovic, theme tunes to movies, classical music. Sometimes inspirational training mix when I need to get somewhere fast :p

I've listened to Mass Effect music, Metallica, Def Leppard, any kind of classic rock. Sometimes pull up Netflix and play movies in the background.

For or lightheartedness I have George Carlin and Robin Williams stand up. Passes the time.

Oooh, sooo going to go vote! *pee's himself a little* My current favorite is that ol' 80's tune with the sample of yodeling. Freaking love flying through space to that tune.

I set up my laptop on the arm of the sofa next to me and whack on a dvd it's nice having it on as long as I remember not to fly into a star!

Surf the web or go into party chat with buddies. I already know how to amuse myself during a grind, and so long as theres a juicy payout at the end, Im happy to grind away!

For me, its usually Pink Floyd and Jack Daniels! :D

(although I'm sure the latter has caused me to doze off in the pilot seat, resulting in a rather toasty ship/star interface on a few occasions :D)

I set my laptop right next to my TV and put on some scifi. Last week I watched the whole lot of Aliens.
One time I had Alien (1) on just for visuals and was litening to Radio Sidwinder at the same time. And there came an old track where she sang "Ther's something inside you, it's hard to explain" :D Cracked me up :D (AND most importantly: kept me AWAKE!)

Weird Al, have a rep point from me. :D

Went to see him in concert for the second time a couple of months ago. Was awesome. :D

And you can have a rep point for the mention of the mighty Def Leppard! :D

I feel your pain. With so much emptiness its nice to have folks to chat with while exploring it.

Feel free to add me and jump in party. I'm currently exploring NGC 7822 with plans to visit the Heart and Soul Nebulas before heading home again.

A fellow fan! Not surprised haha. Saw them in July here in the states. 2nd time I e seen them and they are the greatest lol.

I've had to abandon my big exploration trip. Some setbacks. Will do more upgrades and then attempt my circumnavigation again. I won't settle for failure lol.

I listen to audiobooks while exploring.
Currently listening to Sir Terry Pratchett’s Carpe Jugulum. Quite appropriate for Witch Space, I think.
