Exploring

I got back safely, thanks to iridium wing, great escort job, smooth operation thanks guys, took a while to instance properly and at final landing I had for the first time a weird rotating bug that meant my ship get sliding away from the landing pad, luckily with advice and time running out, I flew out of the station, supercruised and tried again, phew. Now hundreds of rocky icy bodies (and a few amonia and water worlds, one Elw for terraforming) with my name on them! Iridium highly recommended, Ieven forgot to put landing gear on 1st time, luckily I didn't hit boost.
Job done, roc

is it same to explore in solo, (can you do cg in solo? Thats the most dangerous activity). I have started with mobius, but out here there is no one around...maybe I return in solo mode?

The only difference between modes is how much people you interact with. To see people on the map in a private group, you still need to be friends with them!

Do M stars, ever have anything usefull?

And can't seem to turn off t tauri from selection

M can rarely have ELWs... As for TTS, they're in 'Proto Stars'.

I got back safely, thanks to iridium wing,

Good to hear!

I have been playing a while and unlocked prof Palin, so thought it is a good idea to use my asp and leap off to meet the 5000 ly from start. I modified the outfitting a bit and off I went yesterday.
Now I am 1400 ly away and tons of new discoveries, but I am realising my errors, my mass is too heavy, I kept military hull which is 40 ton, as I didn't want to crash land, and some other things, I didn't really need, wish I brought a 2nd AFU, but so far am OK with 97 %hull, and an srv for mats. But my range is 25ly, which is ok, I am zig zagging a bit down the main arm from sol, staying in the stars.
Most tricky thing to decide is which planets to detail scan. If more than 5000 Ls from system sun, I don't generally bother. While I am scanning main star, I check the system map, but the visual (and audio) clue to planet type is not clear to me. Is it worth scanning moons, have to get real close to them.
I guess there is nowhere to change outfitting or hand in scan data. Hillary Depot is long way from me and not sure they have these services. Probably griefers on that route too? So I will plod along visiting nebula on the way. Fingers crossed. Occasionally I see uss, but too scared to visit. Might be pirates?
Any advice for me, maybe after this trip, I will make a dedicated asp explorer and a general multi task one or buy a vulture.
Interesting exploring experience....I have a 6A fuel scoop and top rated 5A Fsd and 5A thruster, only 1 fuel tank (not sure if really need 2), 2A beam laser, chaff, heat sink and point defence (why? Maybe aliens), can heat sink ammo be replenished? Lists as ammo, but not sure which type. Anyway let's see... Lots of yellow and red discs in this galaxy!

No, you can't synth heat sink ammo.
Never run into a USS outside the bubble that is anything other than degraded, and contained anything other than wreckage and a data cache (illegal, but the large ones still fetch good prices).
What to detail scan? Honestly? Everything. Explorers make their money from their data. More data, more money. More details, more money.
If you have the system data for Hillary station, you can look on the System Map and see what services they have to offer.
If you're that concerned about griefers, you can switch to solo to approach and dock and switch back when you're done.

I did my own trip for Palin in a Beluga jumping around 30 ly at a time. I scanned every square inch of everything along the way, and nothing at all on the way back. Took me 13 days to get there and about 6 hours to get back.
