Newcomer / Intro Exporting Coriolis Ship Data to E:D Shipyard

I just spent about an hour inputting all the specific data from my ship mods into a Coriolis profile, then copied the export page. I then attempted to import this data to ED Shipyard, but it says "no ships found." Is there a trick to this or am I doing something wrong?

Don't know for sure since I've never looked at it. But I'm guessing the trick is that both sites are made by completely different people and they don't acknowledge each other's data formats.

I have no idea why you would want to. Coriolis is better in every way (or was last time I looked) and gets updated quicker.

The way I do it is through Elite Dangerous Star Map (EDSM). If you sign up with an account at EDSM your profile will list all the ships you own with a link to both Coriolis and ED-Shipyard for each. I've never had to input data manually to get them. You will also need to run some helper programs to gather data as you play. That's all explained when you sign up with EDSM. If you have ships in storage, they might not get picked up by EDSM until you actually use them.

It might be possible to link data directly to Coriolis and ED-shipyard without going through EDSM, but I don't know how to do that.

You will be looking for something like eddiscovery (there are others). It will post from your game journal to edsm.

I am still intrigued as to why you want thing in edshipyard
