As an avid player of combat flight sims, i've flown many virtual combat aircraft but most of my interests in combat aviation is from the 1960s and forward, so like F-4s, 16s, and /A-18s, vs MiGs and Sukhois. But most modern planes employ something called a Heads Up Display. Now i'm not going to educate you guys on what a HUD is because almost every game has one but what I would like to see in elite is a more detailed HUD, similar to this image

Reason why I want this is because I think it'll be a fun thing to have as an extened option, obviouslly some details will be absent when not flying on a planet, such as the altimeter and AOA ladder, but i'd like to see multi cannons use more of a bullet stream reticle such as this.

and missiles have a proper "cone" like this

along with weapons, some nice navaids would help too, like which way is "up" in a certain system, and have a route following mode for fuel scooping, or a route that you can follow that puts you infront of the station you wanna drop out from supercruise in front of, useful for smuggling and slave trading. Along with that another very important function has been missing for quite some time, a velocity indicator is very nessesary for FA off flight. To go with the weapons, maybe an RWR(Radar Warning Reciever) function would be useful too. Yes, already the radar does display contacts well enough, but doesnt really tell you who they aere without locking onto them.

Using this image as an example, the number 29 stands for a MiG 29, a russian multirole combat jet, you notice it has a diamond with a half circle ontop, that symbology stands for you are being locked onto and painted by that MiG 29, the other contacts you see (18,E3, and M) are other radar contacts in the area, the 18 is an F/A-18, an american jet, an E3 AEW (airborne early warning), aircraft, and an M which is just a generic radar emplacement. Now some jets usually have the RWR in a seperate panel on the dashboard, but some aircraft, Like the AV-8B harrier usually has RWR material displayed on the HUD, like in this image.

specifically the top right of the HUD glass, you'll see two lines pointing at two circles, which are two seperate areas radar returns are coming from. this would greatly help in identifying ships quicker than scanning, because every ship has a unique radar return.
That's all I got, thanks for reading.
