Exterminate xxxxx Clan members

Please could you shed some light on this please :

So I have a mission

Which says
Eliminate 10 members of the criminal faction HIP 13644 clan
Search for targets in settlements controlled by HIP 13644 clan

So I goto my Navigation and find the HAHM Industrial base .

I go there kill em all , nothing happens with mission status.
So mission cannot be completed.

Am I doing something wrong , is this a bug and is anyone else seeing this
Also Sally is this something you guys know about ?

Is the settlement active? If not, you just killed 10 scavs who happened to jog about there.
Scavs are not clan members.

To be honest, these missions can be deceiving, as some factions only have one settlement left, and that one might be inactive, leaving you with nothing to complete these missions. Be mindful of that when you accept one. I only take these when I'm sure there is a place I can kill em.

I cleared 2 active settlements last night with no advancement of the mission. It worked on the other faction I had a mission for.

Thats obviously not working as intended then. I did one yesterday as well, and that one worked, I mean I never experienced this behavior with this mission type.
I could only think of the situation I described that might of confused OP. If the settlement was active and he killed clan members, then stuff is borked.

I tell you what, I totally echo Koma's sentiment here and would love a ticket in the tracker! I can run a lot better with it for you to grab some answers I'll have a little dig around in the meantime though!

Added to it. I even found the faction if that's any help to anyone.

It was Xingga Labour.

Were the lights out? No smoking chimney's? Were you able to enter buildings?

Yep, they're in Civil Unrest. Generally their settlements will be offline. I've found very few exceptions to this.
Also, it seems Hahm Industrial is their only settlement in the system.

Thanks. I've seen this happening intermittently as well. As in, we killed 9/9 in a single settlement, but it only counted 8/9. That was while sharing the mission with 3 more friends.

I've had one where it asked me to kill everyone but the counter got stuck at 20/21, with nobody left. I thought it didn't count the one I ran over with my SRV on the way in or something.

Same settlement for the exterminate mission + from another space station a mission to restore it .

My favourite is when they send you on an assassination mission to their own settlement. If it at all goes south, your rep completely tanks.

Well, that the culprit then, in this case, hence my previous remark.
Or rather, you should not be able to pick a mission where you are not able to complete the objective, but yeah... this is elite dangerous.

I had this happened to me. I found the last one inside a building, underground and invisible to me. I could not shoot him, but this npc could shoot me from the undergroud. I checked the location of this npc from the radar of the SRV. To complete the mission i had to reset the base with the ship and kill everybody again.
