Extremely Slow Federation Ranks

A few weeks ago I started my grind of Federation ranks to get the corvette. Once I got to Lieutenant (Rank 8), I took a break from the grind. I came back today to try again. After putting in about 10 hours of grinding and over 100M credits from donations, I have only ranked up about 1.75 ranks. I know that the higher your rank is the more missions it takes, but this seems excessive. I have pretty much been doing data delivery-type missions and donations. I did this grind for the Empire during the break, and it did not take nearly this long. Am I doing something wrong?

Just realized I meant 100M credits not 100k

Figured out I can edit but don't know how to delete this comment so just ignore this reply

Is Times 10 per rank...
it not linear aka 1000 for each its logarithmic And all ranks in elite work like this, same for combat. exploration, and trade..
first rank is say is 10
next rank 100
next rank 1000
next rank 10000
next rank 100000
next rank 1000000
next rank 10000000 but fdev never announce the starting number...

Every one whos done this for empire and fed has done this...
But there are FASTER ways to complete it and there are slower ways to do it...

The fast way is not enabled at present burning fed or empire stations issue missions to rescue station users... this generated high rank missions with extremely short distance from station to rescue ship, this reduced the jumps... At the mega ship there were escape pod missions That were high reward for any escape pods handed in...
Due to these missions being extremely short travel times they increased rank up and you were insured to go upto the 20 mission cap with out trying...
With multi stations burning when one mega ship missions dried up you moved to another mega ship...

You never stated WERE you did empire rank grind or what state the systems were in... Status of system can Increase or Decrease the mission type given. this will reduce the number of data missions and there respawn chance which reduces the chance to get max missions per run...

Thankfully I got my Empire ranks back in the day at Quince. When the Planet Scan missions were going. Double dipped. Stack of empire missions to scan the planet beacons below, and then flip that money earned into donations back. And once i was done and kept earning, all that went to 17 Draconis for fed ranks. The grind seems to be harder now despite more cash available.

am i the only one who thinks getting cutter and corvette ranks wasnt so hard and time consuming? for me, manufactured mats farming is way more grindy (cause lots of ships and builds :/ )

In before someone tells the OP not to grind

I did my grind at Robigo. Don't know if it's still a thing tho

Depends on what you mean by Robigo...

Old Robigo: long range smuggling, sweaty palms while you tried to blast through the mailslot while avoiding the scan with millions of credits at stake - riveting gameplay, most fun I've had in the game (* NO LONGER A THING)

New Robigo: passenger missions. Eyeball-bleeding boredom. Utter confusion as to why you'd deliberately destroy the best loop in the game. (* STILL A THING)

Yay.

Fastest grind is passenger missions at burning federation stations. The problem is you need either Thargoid attacks or some other event to trigger the burning stations.

I'm still finding a lot of success with Fed rank running missions between Canopus/Exphiay. It's a little tedious to keep having to play the interdiction dance but at least for me it's already got me halfway to Post Captain after a day of doing nothing but those missions, and not even running them super hardcore.

First of all like I said I know it's like this especially as I already got my Cutter. The problem I'm seeing is that It has taken me about 10 hours to not even go up 2 ranks when I did my entire 12 cutter ranks in about that time.

Also sorry I forgot to say I use the popular Ceos and Sothis Route.

What status helps/hurts for these?

Wars/elections/ negative economy states change and remove missions...
Sothis is in war states in factions. and has only one fed faction..
Ceos is in war states in factions. and has only one fed faction..
The more factions belonging to the rank you want the more data missions...
This is why locations with 3-4 fed factions giving data were used before like Ochosi system...
And the empire was Ngalinn with over 5 empire factions.

Is Ochosi still good? I think it was Down to Earth Astronomy's video that said this system was the best for fed
