Eyefinity and the Galaxy Map Crash

I have an AMD Radio R9 280 and I can't remember what my PSU pumps out, but I know it's powerful enough as when I bought the card I had to upgrade my PSU to accommodate the needs of the card

I hate implying a bum card but just for the sake of asking is the GPU still under warranty?

No i have had it for some time, this is the only game it crashes on, i play other GPU intensive games like Flight sim X, Tomb Raider, Battlefield 4, COD Adv Warfare, Grid Autosport, they all work fine. this game works fine until i go into the map.

FSX isn't GPU intensive, it's CPU intensive ;)

Can you check your PSU power rating, just in case please? Other games aren't really useful as guide, as none of the ones you've listed are ones I'd say really tank out a gfx card.

Should be fine then with a 280.

Might be a dodgy card, or just a driver issue.

If you run it single monitor, is it ok? And did it work windowed? (I can't remember if you said).

It works with single monitor no probs, soon as i put the other 2 on it dies.

i did try with borderless, im assuming thats windowed without the borders, anyway that crashed too.

Well, the easiest fix I'd suggest would be to clean out the GPU heatsink and reapply thermal paste between it and the graphics processor, if you feel comfortable doing so.

i am cool with that, i might give it a go,

i am trying it with low graphics settings and to start the GPU is running at 75 degrees, so thats 6 deg less. havent tried the map yet.

guys thank you for your help tonight, im going to call it a night as i have work in the morning. i will test it further ad do your suggestions. will let you know the outcome.

Don't think it's a heat issue, otherwise it'd crash in normal operation.

For now, about all you can do, unless you're happy to replace the card, is to ticket it with a DXDiag and see if support have any wisdom.

well that sounds good i suppose with it not being a heat issue. how do i send a ticket with a DXDiag? i know how to send a ticket, i have one open with this issue, but i dont know how to do the DXDiag
