FA off launch getting Yeeted sideways.

Lol, thanks man! And don't forget to add that you CAN reproduce or else the algorithm ignores the post entirely. Fdev do be making us jump through hoops to fix their game over here!
Have you mentioned the bug to our CM in the Update 6 thread?

Might be worth waiting until they’re back at work this coming week and providing a link to the issue 👍

Yes indeed, I generally harass poor Sally over the problem de jour.. so I'll do likewise possibly on Tueday as I'm pretty sure it's a bank holiday tomoz. :)

I think the lurch is due to them attempting to fix another bug, for which they haven't actually found the root cause - instead of fixing it, they're trying to artificially compensate for it, and that is affecting other things that don't need the correction.

I'm not sure how many unique replies are needed for an issue to transition from "Confirming" to "Confirmed," but we currently have nine on the report for the underlying issue (previously linked in this thread, but for convenience: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/41299 )

I've been doing extensive testing on the various symptoms of the bug for the past week - if you land FA Off (or rotational correction off, since that's what actually triggers it), then take off without disembarking, that's the only time you won't lurch when taking off. My hypothesis is that this is because of when the bandaid fix is applied. If I'm right, then we'll likely see an old issue broken again, or in a new way, if they fix the actual bug without removing the bandaid fix, but once we get past that it just might fix several issues that I suspect may trace back to this underlying bug.

Some friends and I also have seen evidence that one player landing FA Off can affect other players in the same instance - even if they're not teamed up. This could explain several issues that seem to be more prevalent in open (although I have also duplicated the problem in solo, in addition to our testing in private groups).

If anyone takes a moment to test it by landing FA Off and heading to the concourse, you'll usually be able to find odd invisible walls, either where the NPCs should be, or a bit displaced (maybe ten feet) to the right when facing the front of the station (turbolifts behind you). A few more confirmations should hopefully get the issue to the "Confirmed" state so we can begin upvoting it

An issue report requires 10 unique confirmations and each of those players to have also clicked “can reproduce” before submitting - I have already added to the issue, and hopefully only one more helpful CMDR is required to get it out of the Expiration threat 👍

Are you in open?

Are there other players in the instance?

Are you in a team?

I've seen MAD stuff happen when networking is involved.

Sounds like a different bug to that though as it seems more specific

Indeed, the issue seems to ripple out and echo back a lot, even with just two people in a private group. But I've seen the lurch in solo as well, while reproducing the FA Off bug I mentioned. I don't think the networking is at fault - it is correctly sending the data it is told to send; it is just being told to send data that is already skewed/overcompensated/etc
