Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

If the arid pack is anything to go by a potenial mountain pack would prob be something like: Rocky mountain goat, markhor, takin, chamoise and some random exhibit :D

If we DO get a mountain pack, perhaps a baboon species was left out of the arid pack because we are getting a gelada...? Wishful thinking!?

I never felt particularly strongly that this summer would be the devil’s chance, but I’m thinking this fall just might be it. I don’t even care about the devil itself, mind you, I just think that the most likely packs it would usher in (woodlands and islands) are my best bets for getting the tanuki.

I guess at this point I’ve sort of given up on the game actually having the sort of robust roster it needs in most areas (the lack of the baboon today shook me, while coming off the back of a non-SA tropical pack), so the best I can do is hope for one specific thing and cross my fingers for its path to getting in.

May be we will get island scenery pack in this autumn

I was wondering after today's pack and Tropical pack how are people feeling about species specific animal packs in future?

I know the idea wasn't the most popular one before, but has opinion shifted after some time?

I think just one Primate Animal Pack could easily plug many holes. What do you all think about such concept?

I mean its now kinda unavoidable to do a full primate pack in order to get them up to reasonable state compared to other animal groups.

For the Arid Animal Pack, I have mixed feelings. I am glad that several animals that were included in the African animal wishlist made it, at the same time I think its bad, that the animals of the pack from mostly one continent (Africa) and there are no birds, but everyone would like to see them in the game.

As constructive criticism, I would advise Frontier to have a bird quota for all future DLC. Every future pack should have at least one bird species, provided it is not a taxonomic pack. If that were the case, the majority of players would be happy!

Also, in the Grasslands Animal Pack were multiple exhibit animals (true, morphologically they look the same), which I accepted with great joy, that's why the one exhibit animal in the Tropical Pack and Arid Animal Pack it's disappointing for me. I think that for future DLCs, especially Animal Packs, it is important to have more exhibit animals, one of which should be a WE and the other a standard exhibit.

Two ideas for the fall dlc:

Arboreal Animal Pack
1. Black howler monkey
2. Golden lion tamarin
3. Diana monkey
4. Javan langur
5. Goodfellow's tree kangaroo
6. Tamandua
7. Yellow-throated marten
8. Panther chameleon (E) or Siberian flying squirell (WE)

New World Pack with a wild west theme
1. Collared peccary
2. White-nosed coati
3. Greater rhea
4. Black howler monkey
5. Chuckwalla (E) or Seba's short-tailed bat (WE)

I desperately want this (need it, even) but don’t see it happening. I think our last possible shot at multiple primates at this point would be an Arboreal Animal Pack, which could also offer a bunch of non-primate South American species (ocelot, coati, Brazilian porcupine, tamandua, honestly even the spectacled bear if they wanted to stretch it a bit). It’s more in line with existing packs, and therefore more likely, than a primate pack would be imo.

Edit: didn’t even see the post immediately before this one suggesting an Arboreal Animal Pack, ha

Well now I will allow myself to join this discussion
I really hope this dlc comes out in September instead of October. The wait for the twilight dlc and NA almost made me go insane. I know it’s likely a build dlc which I’m not looking foreword to.
I think it will be a temperate or taiga dlc has some kind of NA build theme to it. Perhaps the animal selection will be that of a new world blend.

one could only hope

We desperately need a primate pack at this point, and besides birds it's the one taxon that could work imo (baboon, howler monkey, marmoset, tamarin etc).

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess the Fall dlc is a scenery pack themed around Islands, with the Tasmanian devil, tree kangaroo, brown island kiwi and sifaka or some other lemur.

I still don't think a pure taxinomy pack would sell well. There are too many people biased especially with monkeys and birds.

That said: In an ideal world I would buy a 20 animals pack (higher price point) for both. A monkey pack could work with a huge climbing overhaul and a bird pack then obviously with flying.

But I'm afraid we will just get more of the same: Ungulate, cat, dog, one higher effort animal.
