Famous real life and fictional character NPCs in game

I saw a HOBBIT flying around in a Sidewinder... I guess he was looking for some Space Shire or Ring... ;^)

And then there was NAPALM JUNKIE... he didn't store his ordinance too well & his ship went *BOOM* real nice. B^)

Star Citizen is cancelled due to the death of the Wanted -

Though he has a habit of re-spawning, as this is not the first time we have met in combat!

I dont know why/how FD accepted names like that , I have seen so many terrible ones that brake immersion (they should be a togle to hide them) like once I saw : DVD as a name.... DVD? did the guy pay a lot of money just to ruin the game? was that the plan?

Seriously. I can't name myself COMMANDER POOPYNIPPLE

but apparently Dmitivi Ilgilovnilinvoinchokovlinslavdok and DVD is cool?

Makes the whole "Naming ships would require us to sort through the names" shtick fall flat on its face too.

If it wasn't for these backers who named the NPCs we wouldn't have a game to play period with stupid in game NPC aliases to get our immersion broken over. Just one of those things we have to get over...not that I don't sympathize with you, but these people didn't pay big bucks to name NPC's that possibly became nothing for you to be able to turn their stupid names off.

Hell my alias is Battleship Kickass in game because I feel like we name our ships as we definitely do not play as a person in this game which turns a lot of people off...and I am one of the biggest RP'ers you will find in game.

Kickstarter Backers could do anything they want, including stuff like that to bother a particular kind of player who would call it breaking immersion.
Its only initials, perhaps his name is David Victor Dobbs. The Polish one looks real to me.
Don't sweat it my Alliance brother.
Long Live Donut Boy!

Maybe doesn't qualify as a funny name.. But the other day I met and killed myself! In other words, a wanted NPC with the same name as my CMDR interdicted me and got what he deserved :) Anyone else who "met themselves"!? Is FD generally using our chosen CMDR names as NPC names as well? Or they just happened to come up with the same one as I did..?

I agree , that can do what they want.
it just seems a bit silly.

I started to see CMDR names as a user names for members of the pilots federation to prevent potential privacy issues and other such problemes.

We are the pilot in elite as we can change ship , and one day we will be able to walk around , but even then calling your self : battleship kickass is not that bad because it could be a nickname or an injoke for someone to go by that name.
I called my CMDR : CMDR Danna , because my other choises were taken including my IRL name.... I wonder who uses that name in game....

Awesome Welles can't take a hint. I send him burning several months ago and the other day he showed up for a glorious 30 seconds before going poof again.

Came across Franz Schubert the other day, for those who don't know he was a composer of classical music... I can't remember who wrote the docking computer music at the moment but it may have been him.

Franzl is my kickstarter NPC. The 'Schwammerl' in my CMDR name is a nickname of Schubert's (he had several). It roughly means 'little mushroom' in the Viennese dialect. Schubert was short and fat.

The docking music is from "The Blue Danube" by another Viennese composer, Johann Strauss II. They are buried about 30ft apart in the Zentral Friedhof in Vienna
