Farthest star from the Galaxy? (In Game)

Next time you have the chance, search HD 5235 in ED. It's a star of the class C0 V (which I've never seen) and it must be about 10kly from any other star. I'll make an edit later showing its position on the galaxy map.

Not expecting many replies, but an interesting star nonetheless.

I stumbled upon White Eyed Pea which is another interesting looking system way up above the Galactic plane. Funny having all these systems in-game when they're so far off being reachable, even allowing for engineering upgrades, FSD injection and neutron-star boosts.

Well, as FDev are trying to make parts of the game as realistic as possible (allowing for the fact it IS a game, and set in the future, when we cannot KNOW what will be available) it makes sense to have these items within the game, if the scientific community agree that these star systems are part of our Galaxy.

That White Eyed Pea is crazy. I know of a supposed halo of stars around the Galaxy caused by a collision, it would be cool if that was in game

Farthest I've seen was a PSR cluster 11,293 ly below the plane - you can't actually scroll there, you can only search for it by name (and the map immediately jumps back up to -10,985).

Oh yeah...I managed to target a star before it switched to -10985

Edit-LOL Whilst on this subject, I just found HR 386, which must be about 100ly above the max height of 9015, I managed to bookmark it too

I’ve noticed a lot of systems that are way out of our reach. I’m not ashamed to admit that I sometimes take the time to eat while in game, and I often “peruse” the galaxy map in my area while searching for interesting stellar objects. As I often go to the highs and lows of the galactic plane my hunting often finds systems that I can not reach no matter how hard I try, and a lot of them are FAR out of reach.

I want to see whats in those systems. [cry]

Maybe the thargoids got some technology that could help us reach those but it'll be a use-it-once-tech. That'd be interesting.

Nice find.
Personally I'd like to see a list of these unreachable systems. I prolly spend 70% of my time in ED just searching the map these days. I'll try to do a list of what I have here.

Try putting GEN into the search bar, I nearly reached that lot. Maybe one day we'll be aloud to use jump boost juice with neutron boost and reach a few.

i tried to search the galaxy map today and found that all my stars and systems outside the bubble have dissappeard and i can no longer lock onto them or the ones i had already booked marked how am meant to explore now

I found a few others a while ago, but I can't remember their names.

Sound like you have a filter on in the galaxy map.

I have never seen the far off worlds. But I heard rumors that they have rainbow rings, comets of gold and banana planets. One of the planets is probably a statue head of The Braben.

Once we get advanced hyper jumping, where we like hypercruise navigate the dangerous radiation fields between the farther clusters, sucking fuel during the jump through witchspace from dangerous dark gas clouds that will kill us if touched to hard, then we will finally see these fantastic dream worlds.
