Fast rotating stars/planets

I'm currently out in the NGC 7822 Nebula and when looking for some POI came across some videos of very fast rotating stars. I got excited and went to visit them but neither of the stars for the videos I saw looked anything like that when I got there. They were just your typical star with no fast rotation. On the way out there I came across a planet that showed a very fast rotation in the system map but when I cruised up to the planet it was just sitting there like a lump of rock in space. Is this not supported on the XBOX version of the game? I'll get over it but I was pretty disappointed in not getting to see it for myself.

A lot has changed. A long time ago, certain types of stars (T Tauri's, I think?) were a murky pale blue-grey colour and had patches that moved around the star very quickly. I think that got replaced with the current looks-just-like-ordinary-stars appearance a number of years ago, now.

As to awesome fast-moving planets, go to Mitterand Hollow, in the Epsilon Indi system :)

Haven't heard about fast rotating stars myself, never seen one. Definately do take up Jimmox72's advice to visit Mitterand Hollow though, it is breathtaking.

As for the rotating planets you see in your system map, this is from here on the forums just yesterday. Scroll down to Varonica's post for the explanation.

Thanks for the replies. I've been to Mitterand Hollow quite a few times. I'm new to the boards but I've been playing for a year and keep my base at Galileo so I do a lot of trading in Epsilon Indi as they have a lot of food/beverage that surrounding systems are always wanting. It's one of my favorite places to visit, I never get tired of the view. Here's one of the videos I saw with the fast rotating stars (it's at the very beginning so you don't have to wait/skip to see it) by Obsidian Ant...

The old t-tauri stars used to spin fast and looked much prettier than the usual orange star types. Found a few systems on way out to Jacques with loads of ringed ones, but haven't been back that way to catch up with their new look.

I went to a moon/planet once where it wasn't spinning fast but actually moving fast. So fast in normal space that I couldn't keep up with it!I Should've bookmarked it at time but prob couldn't even tell you which bookmark it was now anyway!

Yeah there are still bodies that have fast orbits, Mitterand Hollow is probably the most famous example. You can't chase that one down without a little strategy. Just yesterday I was mapping an unexplored system out close to the Heart and Soul nebulae and after mapping a planet I was looking at the navigation panel to see the signal sources, while I wasn't looking got yanked out of supercruise because I didn't realize it was moving towards me at a good clip. It wasn't moving so fast that it couldn't be chased but for a planet/moon it was burning rubber.

Herbigs were the fast spinning stars, maybe some T Tauris too but rarely.

They dont spin like that anymore, I miss them. Many Herbigs also used to be White. I miss that too.
