Fastest way to Python from 3 million?

I currently have a pimped Viper + some cash, worth 3 million according to the ingame stats. I want a Python ASAP.
Should I continue grinding the 150k Anaconda-assassination missions or change to a cobra or type-6 to trade? What's the fastest way to get those millions?

Massive grinding via trading that will probably make you quit the game. You also need atleast the same amount of money for modules alone. Wait until FD fixes bounty hunting/conflict zones/combat missions, or forget about it.

Trade is hands down the best way to make some serious cash. Cobra is a good all rounder but if you want to make money quickly you need at the very least the type-6.

Pimp it out to have maximum cargo capacity and start running normal trade. Remember to leave enough for insurance, extra cargo capacity and money for the goods to transport.

coffee and rare trading imo, probably worth getting a asp first, increasing the cargo bay to 92, and running rares, should get somting like 1.7 million every 2 hours, if you grind it. Then getting the 200 tonner lakon and making 1.4 million an hour if you find a trade route that pays 1k per ton both ways.

but its a grueling way to play, apparently you can make 700k every 20min bounty hunting. check the video at the end of the thread.

Alright, thanks guys. Guess it's time to change career then. :)

here a nifty little site if you want to plan your rare trade route, would advise starting at momus reach or leesti, then going on this circuit.

take the long way round to momus reach, and the direct route to leesti. Can leave korro kung and Geras out, since they are quite a trip, but good outfitting to be fount in Geras. You can clear it and plan your own route too.

Type 6 with 104 cargo and around 18l/y range laden can earn around 2 mil an hour. Need to find a round trip that nets about 300k profit with around 4 jumps each way.
Also helps for the station to be close to the star to cut travel time. It's a ludicrously monotonous way to play and i got sick to death of it after i got to 20 mil, you can mix it up by traveling to and from a few systems but it's still a grind.

T6 trade until you can buy a T7 then trade until you can buy Python.

Can be done in a week or less if you are good.

Go to Suyarang Treshchov orbital and trade Tantalum to shaw terminal in the same system the from shaw take super conductors to Treshchov, low fuel costs and short flight mean fast income of easy 1mil+ an hour.

I'd not kill the game, by focusing on "fastest way" to anything, unless you enjoy endless trading.

Do what I do. Trade up to an asp and gear it into a capable combat ship with about 60t cargo. Then bounty hunt in and around lave. When you need to rearm and repair, head to any of the five systems in that region and stock up a little with rare items. Don't wait around, head right back to hunt more. Use the nearby systems to hand in bounties. Codorain is nearby for empire, lots of alliance and federation systems nearby for the rest.

Once you have 50-60t cargo in rares - which is possible - head out 150ly and sell. Then start again.

You have fun fighting and make a nice profit from bounties, and combat is more challenging as pirates engage you for your cargo.

You make about 1m on the cargo run. You can do this in a cobra, with lower cargo and less fire power, but you can still net 500k per run plus bounties. This is a good way to save up for the asp.

Not the fastest route but definitely a lot of fun. More fun than trading alone and quicker than bounty hunting exclusively. The icing on the cake is you gain rep with all three major factions.

I'm not saying don't trade; I also own a t6 and will use it if trading is indeed fixed again. But my asp gives me the option to mix things up and make money quickly but without being a pure grind.

I've got an L6 and jumping back and forth between two systems, roughly 7ly apart... one round trip is approx. 180K, takes roughly ten mins. I'm sure there's more lucrative runs.. I've tried the rares and it pays well but no better than the run I already do. Not when you take into consideration the fuel bills and time taken messing about with the flight planning etc...
I tend to just tab out inbetween and if I get interdicted i'll get the bounties that way. I'll save the bounty hunting for when I've got a few extra squillions in the purse ;)

I seriously doubt that cr/hr. It's closer to 1mil an hour, if you get lucky and find a good route. Even rare trading doesn't get to 1mil/hour in a Type 6.

Don't know where you are getting your facts from. I make more than a million an hour rare trading in a Clipper with low cargo space. I downsized my Cargo from 242T to 144T. I never fill it up to max and the cash is still rolling in. It takes a lot of flying tho.

This route will make you 2.5 million in a Type-6. Many cmdr's fly this route in a Cobra. If you fly a big ship like the Clipper, buy the best fuel scoop you can find, it pays for itself and refuels the ship quickly.

Lave -> Leesti -> Diso -> Uszaa -> Orrere ->

Altair -> Zeessze -> George Pantazis -> Chi Eridani -> Kappa Fornacis ->

Tarach Tor -> Momus Reach (SELL) -> Witchhaul -> Wolf 1301 -> Fujin -> 39 Tauri

-> Arouca -> Any Na -> Toxandji ( SELL) -> back to Lave

I've seen a route that is very close to that also. I just got my Asp, and I think that I am going to give a go at the rare trade routes. I figure I can always get sidetracked doing sweet paying missions I stumble on along the way. Looks like it will take me about 2 or 3 playing sessions to get through the loop, assuming I dont get sidtracked. I have been looking for a way to mix things up a bit, and this looks to be spot on for my play style.

As we approach the masses getting into better outfitted cobras and asps, I wonder how traffic will increase on this loop?

Why do you feel you have to get to python so quickly? Enjoy the progression in your own way, your reputation will increase, as will your progress to elite.

If you get bored grinding to python, then what....

How long does the full round trip take?

Doing that run will make you a couple of millions for sure. But it takes a long time to dock, land etc fill up on rares and head off again.
It will pay about 1.2 mill an hour depending how fast you are. That is quite a way off the 2mill an hour claimed in a Type 6.

I do make about 2.5mill an hour in my Type 7. That's with a route paying 1400 cr/ton one way and 860 cr/ton the other way using 232 cargo space. 15 mins approx per round trip getting me over 500k every 15mins.
There are better routes out there I'm sure, but due to time and max cargo space the best you could realistically do, is I would guess 3 mill an hour in a Type 7 with a brilliant route.

In a type 6 in order to do the same you would need a route that pays over 2000cr per ton each way.
Maybe they exist but I've not seen one yet.

You see, I've done that route, its pretty common knowledge. And it gets you nowhere near 2mil/hr. Its actually under a mil/hr. I put a clock running, and ran the numbers. Type 6, with A4 FSD, C4 thrusters, no shields, max cargo (112), no interdictions, no troubles.
