Fastest way to rank up in the Federation?

I've heard it's much easier than with the empire... However, what are (currently) the best systems to grind at? For ranking up in the empire quickly, I basically stacked up many Naval Ascension missions at once, which rapidly boosted my progress and even let me reach the next rank within minutes. However, now that I've reached Baron and am at 39% through it.. I've decided to just leave it at that for now.

But anyways, I wish to do the same with the Federation! Although I'd like to know which systems are currently the best places to do this at. Thanks!

[h=2]"Fastest way to rank up in the Federation? "[/h]There's a new feature in 2.1 coming where you can just email FD to get whatever rank you want because you don't feel like earning it.

I know it sounds greedy, but you could also ask them to bump your combat/trade/explorer rank while you are at it. Worth a try, right?

Um... Would they even do that? >.>

Honestly I don't know if I should even believe that at all XD

Currently, the fastest way to grind naval ranks for the Empire is surface attack missions at HIP 10716, Morgan Depot.
Sadly, I do not know about such locations for the Federation (but I'd like to!).

Yesterday i did 25% at hip 10716 (its the most i can do because of lack of time)
What about Cubeo missions?
How fast are they? Do they worth the time spent?

Never tried those, but according to "Fast Ranking" thread, Cubeo is somewhat slower than HIP. Also, Cubeo target appears to be harder.
Besides, at HIP you bomb neutral faction; at Cubeo, you bomb Imperial one. Not sure if it has some negative impact on your ranking progress, though.

Sell all the cargo racks on your ship, stack about 70 missions and then go and bomb Fernandes. That would require about 1:40 - 2h for one bombing run. Don't forget to install the racks again when you're stacking ascension missions (smuggling and courier) for the outpost.

I myself did charity missions at Tamar.. Then moved on to Cubeo. There seemed to be a bit more there, I'm not sure now though. Shame I don't have Horizons for the surface missions.

Ah well, seems like we've gone out of topic. Ranking up with the Federation is apparently impossible, haha.

Long Range missions work nicely...when you're out picking up LRS missions, grab any Fed/Imperial courier missions as well. They're worth massive gains (I jumped about 15% through Squire last night with just 4 missions out of Robigo).

Anywhere which is Fed CONTROLLED. Some systems are Feddie but uncontrolled. Any Fed controlled system will grant a lot more gain through bounty hunting and BB missions than uncontrolled.

I ranked up really fast after learning this trick. Try and find a system with a lot of stations also. The smaller stations often have charity donation missions.

Go to 17 draconis stack charity mission (change game mode in between)

Then take only rank progression mission that wants you to collect 1 canister of trade data. ( again mode change until you got it)

now fly around in the target system and pickup all canisters you can fined in the various locations ( not only one) - I got 7

now you can repeat all charity stuff and on then next progression you again choose one of the trade data missions which you instantly can fulfill withou even leaving station.

ultrafast progression but it cost some millions ;)

I got from Ensign to Rear Admiral by spamming charity missions in Tun, switching mods etc. I don't like fast-tracking the system, but I wanted to fly a Corvette before 2017.

Getting to Rear Admiral took me 3 or 4 sessions, ~2h each.
I was only leaving the station to complete the rank-up missions. it's also a good idea to stack the rank-up missions as they provide a nice reputation boost for the next rank (for me, it was an extra 2% for each assassination mission I completed).

It's a mindlessly boring process, so if you got a few movies you want to watch, now is the time.

Damn it, Frontier..

I had begun to wonder why I wasn't getting any Charity missions until I realized I was in "Tum", not "Tun". dang it! XD Am heading over there now :'D

It seemed strange enough that a system with hardly any population was doing charity missions o_O

Eh, assassination missions are so boring .-. Kinda annoys me when I fly around a system FOREVER and the target doesn't show up.. Sadly no trading missions are appearing. I mostly only want to get the Permit for Sol XD
