Favorite and Least Favorite Ships?

Hopefully the topic is obvious. Since we're getting some kind of new ship(s) in the next update, I thought this might be fun to chat about. What's one of your favorite ship and what's one of your least favorite ships in the game so far?

One of my favorites is the Beluga. Its relatively affordable, looks good, has lots of space for modules, and can even fight a little bit. I call it the "Poor Man's Anaconda".

My Least favorite is by far the Asp Explorer. Its the most boring ship I've ever flown. It has no obvious weakness and is at least decent at everything, which makes it one of the most dull ships ever. Everyone has one too. The Cobra gets all of the screen time for ads, but nearly every YouTube video about Elite has an Asp X in it. Its awful. The Asp Scout would be my least favorite, but at least it has the flaw of being pointless due to the Asp X.

Depends on the task at hand.

I find the Python to be the best overall general purpose ship.
The DBX makes for a great explorer, mission runner, material collector, taxi
The Chieftan/Chieftain has edged out the FAS for a fun combat ship
Based on cost, the T-9 has wormed its way back into the trade role vs the Cutter
I adore the Orca for medium duty long range passenger missions, though I now have a conda equipped for that, too.

Least favorites:
Adder for anything
Gunslug
Asp Scout

I've only tried a handful of ships in the game, but the only one I ever really disliked was the FAS, which I sold not long after buying. I had it set up as a hull tank. Take it out in a haz res. Shields go down, but I figure no problem, my hull is insane. With like 80% hull left, my thrusters get knocked out, and I'm sitting there helpless before I got blown up. Granted I was a terrible pilot then, so maybe I should give it another shot. But relying on hull strength in general makes me nervous. Can't say I'm crazy about how the Anaconda flies either, and docking it is a pain; but it's a very useful ship so I kept mine.

No least favorite, just ships I currently use based on my interest at the moment.

I've never owned a T10 though. Seems redundant when I have a Cutter since I don't bug hunt.

Overall favorite is probably the Vulture.

Just one favourite is hard- it's a bit like 'which of your children do you love most'?

Mine would probably be the Cobra IV. It was an unasked for gift and a valuable reward, a wonderful surprise and now the target of unwarranted envy and criticism. It's special for a great many reasons, not all of them directly related to the game.

As a ship in our game it is handsome, flys beautifully, has a large number and variety of modules and even carries a reasonable armament. It's perhaps the best ship to simply play Elite in, being able to take on any task and handle it with aplomb. It's not overpowered, there are ships in it's class that outperform it in many ways and I like that quality in it. To succeed in your chosen task requires some skill and forward planning. This is how things should be- no-one should want an 'I win' button.

Which is why my least favourite ship is the Python. It's in a class of one, head and shoulders above every other medium sized ship. It's great at everything and thanks to engineering the small handling flaw it suffers from can be almost entirely removed. I own one for farming and I can heartily recommend the type if you have a task- any task- that you need to accomplish quickly and with a minimum of fuss. It's playing Elite on easy mode... :p

Most favorite ship is the FDL. What's not to love? Its fast, pretty agile, great core internals, 6 utilities, amazing hardpoint placement, all packed into a medium ship with a moderate rebuy.

My least favorite is the Python. I hate it for the same reasons everyone loves it. Once you get it theres very few resons to use anything else. Ive owned one for a while as a miner.

Favorite ship is tough. I have different ships for different moods. It's not my most used but I'd probably say fed dropship is favorite. Reason? How it sounds and it's the best kind of ugly.
Most disliked? Fed Corvette. It's slow and not much of a threat in PVP and its full EZ mode for PVE. And the jump range is crap and costs an A rated DBX to ship anywhere.

My fave is the Vette because it will get me to Elite in Combat the fastest, although my biggest earner is the Conda with VIP passengers.

My least fave is one of my faves but because it is king only in cargo, which I hate doing, and sub par to other ships for any other job other than just flying around, and for this I have bought and sold 4-5 of them.

The Cutter.

But, if they ever come back out with the Gold paint, or a high gloss black with gold trim, I will buy one just for the purty.

Favorite? Hard to say due to multiple ships that I like, for various reasons. While others may excel at certain areas, those I like have that something in them which make them attractive to fly.

Favorite for sure is Python - looks good to me, has a nice cockpit, left side pilot seat, enough range for my needs, lots of space for outfitting, outpost capable. Almost perfect ship and general all rounder.

DBX - another I like very much. Mostly due to looks, unique design. Great range, decent space for it's price range and fulfills multiple roles when outfitted right.

Adder - little gem. May be small, you can't do much with it due to lack of space but man, how it sounds. Perfect solution for personal shuttle. Non engineered outfitting gives you really nice range, engineered is a beast for the price range. If only I could seat on the left...

I also like Anaconda and Cutter, mostly due to available cargo space. But price wise they both aren't friendly, plus Cutter is rank related. Flying those big ships is an experience on its own but I found above give me more joy.

Least favorite? Probably those which I still haven't used. Also those I skipped on or quickly exchanged in favor of another: any Cobra and Viper was merely a stepping stone. T-6, although quite fine and capable was just "meh" and a mean to get DBX. I have never considered Asp Scout, almost anything (but Corvette) Federal. I'm somewhat tempted to get FDL, but mostly due to looks (more sporty Adder).

Oh, found least favorite - Beluga. Can't convince myself to even try it.

I love my FDL and my Vulure, but I also like my T9 as trader, my new Conda for exploring (still updating) and my ASPX for exploring aswell. It's stored right now.

I use a DBX for the bubble and my Cobra MK3 for smuggling and trading. It's also a great ship, fast and light.

I've owned a FSA a year or two ago, but I've sold it for the FDL. Also, I've bought a Chieftain, but never got warm with it.

Main game: Vulture (favourite - fun and capable combat ship), ASP Scout (least favourite - why it even exists)

CQC: F63 Condor (favourite - just fun to fly), Sidewinder (least favourite - flying coffin)

My favorite - has to be good old trusty Cobra MKIII. This little ship carried me for almost a year until I was able to expand my humble fleet.
Second fav - Imperial Cutter - I love the look, the sound and versatility of it.
Least - ASP Scout... what is this ship for again? :)

The Viper. Man, that engine sounds just roar at me, and the first time I saw one was back in Beta when the game was just bare bones, and I had to pause the game only to google what that hell did I just witnessed when one zoomed past my cockpit. It was the fastest combat ship of the time. So you can only imagine the desired to own one at that point when credit was hard to come by on those days.
My least favorite is the Gunship. Because i really like the design and gun placement, but it is slow as hell thus can even catch a cold.

Current Favourite: Cobra Mk3, as it can do virtually anything in the game.
Least Favourite: Adder, I really cant get with the look and the cockpit design.

Least favourite ship: imperial courier.

Hate that circular cockpit. Makes me feel physically sick flying it. (hear it is great in vr but I just have a monitor). Sad as I like pretty much everything else about this little ship.

Mosr favourite ship: undecided. They all have flaws of some sort, that stop me commiting to an out and out winner in this category. Hopeful for the krait I guess, though a recent stint in a T7 puts that high on the list of enjoyables.
