Favorite Thargoid Scout killer?

What is your favorite ship and weapons combination you use to kill Thargoid Scouts?

I know that, unlike killing the bigger Thargoids, we can kill scouts effectively with conventional weapons so our options are wide open.

I'm just curious what the consensus finds is the best ... if there is any consensus.

I use an FdL with quad Gauss Cannons up top, and a c4 Thermal Vent beam laser below to help deal with the heat. I can only fire two Gauss at a time to avoid boiling myself, so I use the right two until the ammo runs out, then switch to the left two. Gives me longer hunting sessions.

Pity I left it at home when I left for the Gnosis...

The Krait running engineered conventional weapons also works well. Just don’t forget to bring Decon limpets. Right now, I’m using my AXaconda with triple Gauss and a Guardian Lance SLF. Great combination.

Currently using an Anaconda with a full Multi Cannon loadout , the goids go pop quite quickly but not as quick as a couple of days ago when i was using a Corvette with two Class 4 Beams and the rest Multi Cannons. Tried using the Guardian weapons on the Vette and found them to be fairly pointless.

I was testing a bi-weave Challenger with 4 guardian shard cannons and three c1 multi turrets,
and a bi-weave Krait with 3 shard cannons, a gauss and a Lance. I liked the Krait more.

My favourite ship would be the Turner class and weapon of choice is the Mycoid missile.

Python with mix of AX multi-cannons and normal multi-cannons. The new fighters are paper thin, one Scout missile and they are gone. One berserker buff and they are gone, so Python over Krait for me.

Krait with two guardian gauss, two large AX multi turrets and a normal railgun in the remaining hardpoint.

Alternatively full dakka Anaconda with four AX multis and rest normal OC MCs.

Anaconda with three large AX multicannon turrets. The rest of the hardpoints are unchanged from normal PvE (lasers and huge multicannon) so that I can still harvest other signal sources. Collector and decontamination limpets are on board.

Keelback with 2 x AX MC turrets and 2 x class 1 gauss (goose? ;)) cannon plus an AX SLF.

FAS with 4 x AX MC turrets

FAS with 3 x class 2 Gauss cannon + 1 x class 3 AX turreted MC

I dont trust Guardian tech and there are no size 1 AX weapons so use a pair of Rail guns with the Short range Blaster mod

Am I the only one having problems hitting scouts with gauss? Not that they are overly evasive,
but 90% of the time I can't see the scout in front of the dark galaxy background and without the subtarget reticule
I just can't consistently hit them. I have to git gud I presume?

Getting “gud” does help. I usually hit them at close enough range that I can see them clearly in the dark. The depth perception afforded by VR helps as well.

It really is worth the effort in the end. Twin Gauss can kill a Scout in about 4 seconds.

My old Cyclops killing Anaconda with refitted weapons for Scouts.

4x AX Multi-Cannon turrets do all the work.
2x Medium and 2x small Corrosive Multi-turrets - they probably do nothing much, but I had them in storage.
Decontamination limpets
Hull armour engineered for days.
Max engineered Class 7 Prismatic Shield and Heavy Boosters.
DD5 Thrusters.

You could just park this ship against Scouts. Even the Caustic damage is so slow - just so much armour.

Hmm. Propably I have to tune up my monitor brightness :S
I mean I can hit Scouts, I just think I need 3 or 4 shots for a hit, which means I run out of ammo really fast.
My elite NPC in my new Lance on the other hand chews through them like mad :D

Yeah, my deadly NPC has been practically kill-stealing with the Lance, not that I’m complaining. Best part of 3.2 as far as I’m concerned.

Using my Cutter the "Immortal". Originally built as my Basilisk killer now retrofitted to kill scouts.

1 Huge Multicannon
2 Large AX Multicannons
2 Medium Long range Beams
2 Guardian Gauss Cannons
1 Lance SLF
1 Trident SLF

8C Bi-Weave Shields Reinforced
8B SCB
4 Guardian Hull Reinforcements

I can take out scouts fairly easy, especially when I get my aim right with the gauss cannons.
I was truly being tested when I was being attacked constantly wave after wave at one of the NHSS around The Gnosis. I think I took down at least 20 to 30 scouts singlehandedly before I had to retreat with a 30% Hull left.

Unlock the Lance last.

Last I heard it explodes if you fire it's weapons for 30 seconds due to self inflicted hull damage.
( this may have been patched out, unsure )

I'd say unlock the Lance first. It HAS been patched and I like it a lot. Pewpewpew triple Gauss, what's not to love? :D
