FD if you fail on the rewarding part, multicrew will be another joke

Or they could, you know, make it fun and engaging to actually play, such that the reward is more of a secondary bonus instead of the main reason to do it. Unfortunately, they went for their signature bare-bones, shallow, "placeholder" approach.

I continue to be amazed by the cognitive dissonance displayed in these threads.

It's always "I want ED to be FUN and multicrew should be encouraged because it creates FUN!!!!"
Closely (and inevitably) followed by "I'm not gonna use multicrew unless I get paid a heap of credits"

So, does something that's fun stop being fun if you don't get paid a heap of credits for having fun? [where is it]

What's up with just having your fun, taking the credits you're given, and being happy with that?

I've just spent the evening charging around planets in SRVs with a couple of mates.
Ostensibly, we were searching for engineering mat's for one of the guys but I'm pretty sure there weren't any to be found on the top of my Python, where we seemed to spend most of our time.
It was terrific fun although I find myself wondering whether I should have earned more than, erm, zero credits for my time and effort.

Guess what...
Maybe because current MC state is shallow, placeholderish and NOT fun? Oh yeah, that's the truth. Sorry to ruin your imaginary world where clunky awful turret view with disconnects and reduced payouts is considered fun. You can't even do anything else, other than shoot.

FDev were promising StarTrek bridge alternative. And delivered a pile of unfinished stinky crap to the table.

So how do you go from "It's not fun so I won't play it" to "It's not fun so I should be paid a heap of credits to suffer through it"?

Are you really not understanding? If the feature is not fun it should at least be profitable to give some kind of enjoyment to the player. However, if it's crap on all sides - it will be not used and will be abandoned.

And that is MC's future

others enjoy it us it is ...is just matter of opinion ...

Or you could just not play it if you don't find it enjoyable... am i missing something? I think mining is boring af, so I don't do it. I don't go around saying it should be more profitable because it's boring and that an increased payout would induce me to suffer through it. That's crazy. There are plenty of other ways to make money.

Sorry I can only rep 1 of these replies.:D [up]

AFK pips is only a thing if you buy a second account and have it sit there AFK, which would quickly fall in under macro'ing/botting.

So 1 extra pip at risk of a shadow ban?

The devs mentioned in one of their videos that they didn't see anything wrong with buying a second account to use for an afk multicrew bonus. So from FD's perspective it's just fine, which means basically anyone who wants to stay competitive in Open will pay $30 for the magic extra power pip.
