FDEV, please confirm that...

Your controller only sends commands when you move it. Also, I expect the auto SC will override your throttle. But even without it you can hit a key mapped to 75% throttle on your keyboard and it will work so long as you don't move the throttle.
This is actually a problem if you have the T16.000 for example.
If you throttle by button to 75% and then reduce speed at the hotas, you actually first accelerate, because the slider starts from 100%.
Many a loop of shame was produced by this circumstance.

You would likely throttle back to engage the SCA. After that, the game doesn't need your input to adjust speed.
Presumably, when you throttle up, SCA is then disengaged.

That might work - sounds similar to the docking computer (which I never used). The other option, as Bigmaec wrote, would be less nice.

I’m looking forward to automated Trading.
I’ve got Voice Attack.
Won’t even need ED JumpPilot once the patch drops.

In the Stream yesterday, Paige confirmed that it will not be able to navigate around bodies. You must find your destination un-obscured and then engage.

EDIT: I would have liked it to auto-nav around bodies; but not only would there have been an uproar from some elitists about "auto-flying" but I also wouldn't trust it. Remember auto-docking in beta? Yeah.
Eh, I don't even trust docking computers now. I have had too many max boost collisions with station exteriors because the computer spotted a gap in the queue and slammed on the boost to get there forgetting that it's not flying a viper and rather an anaconda instead.
These new slots being added to ships are more valuable to the average player than the modules I think.

Although the supercruise module might be handy for boring trade loops when you know your station is in line of sight but is just far away so you can just set it and leave it until it jumps out.

I never saw a problem with the loop of "shame". I loop on purpose to reduce the chance of those, always fun, last second drop interdictions. Plus it feels like you're coming in for a cool approach with planets wizzing by and stuff.

Haven't watched it myself, but I understand on the livestream last night someone asked 'so is this like putting the throttle in the blue?' and Will said'yes, but people have issues doing that....'
But we have a key binding for that? Not that I ever use it I just put the throttle in the blue zone, not complaining though as the extra slot will come in handy

I wonder if there could be some manual input during the automatic supercruise. I would also likely want to toggle it off and on as an option , while being able to arc over to the station mailslot while continuing to use the station nav image as a rough "VOR" like radial.

I don't think anybody offered an automated supercruise. We'll see next week, but I from what I am reading in the announcement it is likely some basic speed management automation to help noobs avoid loops of shame.
