Not WE, you and me have a problem since this bug persists for more than a year and was reported many times, apparently FD don't have a problem with it.
Have you tried flying backwards? 
Well, sure, there's that... But at least having arbitrary speed limits in space means we don't get Jousty Dogfighting, and isn't that why we abandoned the FE2/FFE flight mechanic?
Isn't it worth any number of uncatchable installations to avoid the dreaded Jousty Dogfighting?
It's not a bug. It's a feature. Ensuring all the pirates can catch you, even if you outrun them and manage to drop SC.
