Nuts to that, I got my patches off local BBSes and later directly off the publisher's FTP.

I have to say Im finding it hard not to imagine what could be the saltiest thing they could say, what could cause the most salt:

Well.

They always get accused of announcing an announcement so this time they cleverly hinted at something and let the audience 'work it out' (not exactly times crossword level) so we got the announcement of an announcement but most people are abuzz about it rather than the usual.

Important fact! - frontier have stated on numerous occasions that galnet will now only report on things actually in the game ...IF this is in fact the return of Galnet then the consequences are potentially far deeper than just some in cockpit text to read.

It's not inconceivable that the news isn't Galnet, but that a news story in game will break on thursday and be in Galnet. It used to be thursdays when the Thargoids would appear of course ...

Ok, that might make it a bit more exciting than what I first thought then. I figured it would just be about who the powerplay characters have been schmoozing etc.

I still don't think anything has changed. They kicked out fluff galnet, and originally said it would be back if there was something in game to talk about. Maybe there's going to be something to talk about soon.

No, we're saying we haven't got the foggiest, but it's healthy to speculate and raise our hopes to unachievable levels before crashing in despair on the razor sharp rocks of reality.
