Fed Corvette - Best PvE ship? (Pew Pew)

Vette has more regen for sure, but the T10 has more firepower.

I took my T10 fully PvP combat fit against a Vette and beat it no problem.

Again it comes down to pilot skill and loadout.

I sold the T-10 because I couldn't bear to fly it in Supercruise. Plus it was too hard to interdict people in.
Why is it no one interdicts me in a T10? The best I get is the Orca.

Probably because it's almost impossible to pull people in it. The thing handles ok in normal space, but in sc its garbage.

Krash please get weapons that share the same reticule! I can see that you have a pacifier in a C4 slot and I think I just cried inside a little.

2 Huge Fixed Multis [My personal Favorite]
1 Large Focused TLB Apa Grade 4 (Speed Matched)
4 Rails Long Range (2 Small Fuel Slug 2 Med 1 Feedback 1 Super Pen)

Or 2 Huge Plasma
1 Large High Yield Shell Cannon (Overcharged)
2 Medium Plasma
2 Small Feedback Rails (Long Range)

2 Huge Cannons (Fixed) 1 High Yield 1 Thermal Cascade (Overcharged)
1 Large TLB Plasma (Efficient)
2 Medium Plasma 1 Dazzle 1 Dispersal Field (Efficient)
2 small Feedback Rails

That's an old setup in the video. I've already changed it.

For maximum lulz, wait until an NPC perches itself on the bow of your 'vette then thrust upward/boost and watch it spin off into the distance, completely out of control.
And then explode.

This is easily my favorite pastime in the vette. Been toying with putting shotguns on the vette to soften them up a bit prior to gobsmacking them.

I like these Vette loadouts. Yes sir, I do indeed.

My Bubble Vette nearly has the first loadout, but I run with two overcharged fixed Multis and two small overcharged fixed Multis (the latter corrosive/emissive, the huges autoloader) and a focused same-speed TLB APA and two long-range ImpHammers with feedback. I like the Vette :)

To me, the Vette is the only large dedicated Combat Ship in the entire Game and functions superb both for PvE just as well as PvP.

Give the resistances good consideration and G5 everything... and it's a force to be reckoned with, all while still being surprisingly agile and maneuverable.
Jumprange will clearly reflect that, but that's the price for flying a heavy duty BattleShip.

This is how I use the Vette. I complete massacre/assassination missions, gather mats, travel between Eravate/LHS 3447 and if I happen to get interdicted during these operations, then I get some PvP practice as well. I'm always testing different weapon loadouts. I don't like the meta, never have. I try things for myself. Now that I record my sessions, everyone gets to see my craziness, but I've been doing this for months.

I don't consider my Corvetteto be the ultimate PvE ship because:
1. It's not fast enough.
2. It's not as hull tanky as the other big ships.
3. Comparatively, the jump range means I'm going to spend a lot more time traveling to the conflicts.

Plus, it's more fun in a bi weave / tanked medium (or even engineered small) ship when I don't face tank with shields.

Why do you have to be fast for PvE? My vette has 4400 hull and I'm not even trying that hard. Good point about jump range, but its moot if you stay in the same system day in and day out.

Many thanks for all the feedback and it does seem that if you want to be a bad boy, the Vette is the go-to ship.

I guess that leads me onto the build, bear in mind I'm a complete noob to combat, I can shoot straight and fly like a nutter, but no idea on the ship build.

I'm looking for a cross between Dirty Harry and Machete :)

As long as you fly like a maniac and act the part, the NPCs will never know :p

Since you're a noob, engineer your vette with strong defense for maximum survivability. Go with gimbal weapons for starters. Anything goes with PvE. For more specifics, there are plenty of good suggestions already posted in this thread.

Note: a griefer complained to me recently: "you rely too much on shields to win" - nope, I rely on shields to survive.

And those shields are quite strong... I've really gotta make me a heavy vette to mess around in. My current vette runs a bi weave. I just hate the idea of running a overcharged plant.

I've brought a Corvette twice now, first time I couldn't get on with it, and went back to my Anaconda (s).
It didn't actually feel any more agile than my Annie's, and for PvE, my Annie's were plenty strong enough.
So I sold it.

Then later on, I got another.
Engineered it, outfitted it for AX, and promptly got blown up, where as my Anaconda, actually did very well in AX.

So now it's just holding on to modules for me.

Now for brute force combat (conflict zones mostly), I use an all frag Krait MkII.
It's fun to fly, cheap to blow up, packs one hell of a punch, be it at point blank, and I can fly a very lazy 3-2-1 pip arrangement.
The only minor annoyance is I keep running out of ammo. Lol

The Corvette is awesome. But the issue is that the 2 giant guns on the back, while amazing, limit your builds in my opinion. Since your DPS is focused there, the class 3 weapon below rarely fires unless you are very deliberate with it, which takes time considering the gun is below and back. So, what you will be firing most of the time are 2 small 2 mediums, the same as most small ships. The Anaconda is way more pew pew in that sense, since you have 3 large weapons firing all the time, plus 2 mediums and a huge one that is not that badly located, and overall in close cluster.

This may sounds like the Corvette is not that good, but that is not the case, but based on your requirement of maximum pew pew ship, I think there are other ships that fulfill that role better. The Corvette moves faster and you can keep your weapons on target easier than the Anaconda, and having 2 huge beams firing or a couple of plasmas is great, but the lack of class 4 weapons, and that poorly located class 3 makes the builds less diverse, in my opinion of course.

Now, if your budget is unlimited, just try. The ship is hella fun.
