Horizons FED UP WITH NPC'S HAD ENOUGH FOR ONE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is easy to say boost, boost, jump boost but the persistent NPC that spoiled my day had something causing a 15 or 25% mass reduction which completely stopped my FSD from charging.

Ok the thing is very simple.

I fly for 1 week now the asp explorer and take all kind of missions just to earn money
and obtain the upgrades I want, I suppose that you all understand... the usual drill.
Well today I've been shot down 7 times (That means roughly 7.500.000 cr)
5 from the same NPC!!!!!!!

What the !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me for being, I just want to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last 2 shot downs I was EMPTY!!!!!!

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO HERE??????

Screw the dynamic universe that is !!!!

I love the game and I don't intend on quitting but COME ONE MAN----

Give me a little slack here!!! What kind of pimping is that?????

At the bottom line I don't care about battles I just need credits to make my ship travel
far away.

Ok Frontier put a leash to your hounds because you make me real tired.
I have a life and job I can't stay online for ever!!!!!!!
I've paid for the game I want the joy I once had with it.

In the same boat as the OP: I like the game but I'm tired of fighting frequent and unbalanced fights. The OP isn't doing anything wrong. He wants to trade and explore but stay away from fights. Too bad ED puts most focus on fighting.

"Don't play missions", but that severely limits your ability to earn Rep and obtain rare materials.

"Don't stack missions", this makes the grind even worse as I can't complete few missions in one run.

"Spend few months honing tactics", I have a life to live and other games to play too. If a game requires months of practice to get good enough to enjoy it then the game has major design flaws.

"Don't carry anything valuable in your hold", excuse me, what? LOL

The above advice can be summed up to "don't play the game" pretty much.

The game has problems, stop blaming the players.

Thank you all for your answers, I really took everything under consideration.
I know that I have to improve, it's obvious. But you can't blame me 100% for complaining, it's a Forum here and
I just expressed my opinion about a mechanism of this game so what?
The good thing is that all of your advises helped a lot and that's the bottom line!

I would like to mention that I've returned to the trusted cobra MK III just to make sure I'm learning things
correctly (same missions / FEWER NPC's though) for now the ASP X rests in my "garage".

Thank you for your time, please keep them coming.

See you out there somewhere...

I improved a lot. I even wrote a guide for newcomers on how to avoid and survive the interdictions. The problem is twofold:

1) You can't avoid flying missions, stacking missions, carrying expensive cargo, etc. forever, or you'll impede your progress as missions provide rep, inf and materials. You can make more money by running CGs or trading rares but missions are still a major source of rep and engineering materials. So you will want to start running them eventually. The hell will break loose.

2) Even though you may eventually learn to survive majority of interdictions the frequency and intensity of the interdictions may eventually become superbly annoying for someone who does not enjoy fighting and is grinding towards a given goal, thus being interdicted several times within minutes is enough to rage-quit the game. Interdiction is an annoying and overused game mechanics that only serves to annoy the player and impede the progress.

Elite can be an unforgiving game and that's what makes it amazing compared to some of the hand holding games these days. That said. There's two things one must always take into account.

a) I'm trading or doing hauling missions for rep and credits etc.
or
b) I'm bounty hunting, doing kill missions.

Fit your ship for one or the other. If doing (a) then fit for good power recharge, speed, cargo space, shields and range. Also fit a chaff to counter the larger ships turrets and gimbals and also a point defence for anti-missile. Shield boosters are a must also. The trick of course is to give in to all interdictions, give it 4 pips to the engine and boost at least twice if possible or until you start getting hit. This will give a bit of range while the fsd recharges. Then I would give it 4 pips to the shield and 2 to the engine and then hit the fsd which should be cooled down by this point.

As for (b), it really speaks for itself. Give that ship an iron as*. with all the best in survival and firepower.

I wouldn't really try and do both if you are not to experienced at the game or in a smaller ship. Pick a roll and excell at it. I cannot help say also that you're in a multiplayer game. Utilize that and get some wingmen and have more fun as I have seen many posts like this one over the years and much of the problem is everyone tends to play solo for the most part when they don't have to.

All the best,

Shok.

Have a play around on this site that allows you to equip different ships for many roles. It's very easy to use and handy for plotting a path or goal to work towards. It can be very helpful.
