Federal agents at Haz RES?

Why are there all these federal agents at the haz RESes for the CG? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a haz res?

What is especially ironic is that there are multiple conflict zones in the area. I dropped into a high intensity cz and saw a federal capital ship and an imp cap ship duking it out! It looked awesome, really :D

From a lore standpoint: Why are the feds wasting their time at RES sites when there is a real war going on?

From a gameplay standpoint, this CG has been a lot of fun (as have others) finding CMDRs in open, forming impromptu wings and blasting NPCs. The presence of any sort of authority vessels (in haz RESes where they don't belong) tends to diminish the fun. Hell, even when my wingmates were at the station and I was there alone, I still found their presence to be rather irritating.

We tried turning "report crimes against me" off in the function menu but it didn't help. A lot of the time the fed agents would populate with the initial spawn.

TL;DR

System authority vessels in a haz res make it a high res. It's much less hazardous and less fun. They don't belong there.

They are not system authority vessels. They are powerplay NPCs and they make life difficult for anyone not aligned with Hudson or Winters.

Ah, fair enough. They're still annoying. Not because they were shooting me, but because they are clean. They crowd out the pirate spawns AFAIK.

no, those are the cops, the system authority. I was just doing the CG in LFT 133 and found system authority in the Hazardous Resource extraction site. It was a bit annoying as my wing mates and I when in there hoping less cops meant more bounties for us.

Perhaps it's got something to do with the fact that the system is at war? I donno.

In my experience they sometimes spawn with the instance, but after they are killed they dont come back.

Since it's a HazRes could you not simply kill those clean ships without gaining a bounty on your head ?

Nope, a missplaced shot can still get you wanted. The Haz Res we visited lastnight had many system authority vessels in them.

You might be confusing a haz RES with an anarchy system. Yes, in an anarchy system you can do that, but not in a haz res (unless it happens to be in an anarchy system).

Another broken gameplay mechanic compliments of FDev. Every time they add something they break something and then it takes them ages to fix it. There's a laundry list of fixes this game needs and all they seem to be worried about is pushing out more paint packs and ship kits.

You should still get a bounty but the cops aren't supposed to respond in a Haz RES. It's bugged right now.
