Newcomer / Intro Federation Docking Sound Effect

Is there any way to (legally) download any of the Elite Dangerous sound effects? I rather like the little tune that plays when you dock at a Federation spaceport and I think it would make an excellent SMS alert on my phone.

Thanks.

As a beta backer I got access to some sound effects. Not sure which one you mean though. Also not sure if you can legally download it?

If you mean the docking music it is the Blue Danube, as used in the film 2001 A Space Odyssey.

You should be able to find free downloads of it as it is one of the moist well-known pieces of classical music.

Thanks for replies both. It's not the auto-dock music I'm after, it's the little plinky tune that plays when the Federation logo appears after you've selected "Starport Services" at a Federation station.

It kind of goes: do do do do do dooooo.

:D

Call me stoop-id but I perfectly understood! :O

Le what?
2001 A Space Odyssey used "Also Sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30" by Richard Strauss.

While "Blue Danube Waltz" is by Johann Strauss Jr.

Both pieces of music are used in the film. The Blue Danube is used during a sequence in which a spaceship docks at a space station, funnily enough.

Perhaps it is more apposite to ask you "le what?" The OP was talking about docking music, which is where I asked if he meant the music used during docking computer operation which is the Blue Danube as was used in the film 2001. (Also Sprach Zarathustra was the main theme in the movie).

The OP subsequently clarified that he meant the short "jingle" that sounded on opening the Station Services menu in Federation stations.

I'm afraid that your attempt to look clever had rather the opposite effect (l'effet inverse).

If it is for your own personal use then I don't think FD would object, after all you are effectively giving them free advertising when someone asks where is it from.
I have the "book opening" theme from The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy on my phone.
You should be able to sample it on a PC, but it might be fun trying to get a clean version, with all the noises of docking and the announcements going on.
Looks like I've got a challenge.
