Newcomer / Intro Federation finds me "unfriendly"

Okay, so I picked up for the 1st cargo I found in an USS, and didn't think anything of it, until I got scanned and fined, by federation security. This + possibly shooting a Federation security ship on accident while bounty hunting has led me to an unfriendly rep with them. None of the federation orbitals (gas stations?) would let me dock there.

My question is how do I improve my reputation with the federation?

I also have 30k in federation bounties owed to me, so I would like to be able to dock so I can get paid.

Thanks as always

The reason they won't let you dock is you have an outstanding fine. The best way to deal with this situation is to find a non-Federation station - go to nearby systems and find one that's independent. They exist, often times in Federation-controlled systems.

Once you get there you can pay off your bounty in Fed space. Then you can go back to the system you have bounty vouchers for, turn them in to get paid, and start running some missions to improve your Federation rep.

Thanks!

I paid off my fines, but still get denied access to dock. Bummer

i have never experienced that a station denies you docking rights because of bad standing.
i am guessing the docking pads are just full.
is it a busy station and do you see allot of contacts flying around?

Try again in solo play, there is a lot of traffic in starting areas and small stations have problems with jams. If it lets you in, then it was merely a situation of no parking spaces available.

My experience has been that one scan carrying found cargo after days of gaming to get friendly with a couple of factions resulted in a galaxy wide federation unfriendly status.

yea, but that should not affect docking, if it did then the smuggling profession would be a pretty dead career path.
the station does not scan for your id when requesting docking permission, thats the job for the security vessels outside.

On some of the stations, There was only 1 or 2 of us non NPC players. That's the thing I don't understand. Maybe it's a bug?
