Newcomer / Intro Federation rank grind.

o7 Commanders.

I am currently chief petty officer and i've been grinding in sothis and ceos.
Since the attacked stations are no longer there, what is the best method to go about grinding fed rank right now?

Thank you for your thoughts, leave them here by the way :)

Head over to the next stage of the Interstellar Initiative as that will be granting accelerated ranking and big ship discounts, it is in Upaniklis.

can you elaborate on that more? I'm in upaniklis and there is nothing to go on. I'm in the system and have no clue on how to participate in the intersteller initiative and the ships in the system are not discounted.

I literally did nothing but mission running from when I started the game to when I got my Krait (year or so, maybe less). By the time I stopped, I had enought rep to get the gunship.

According to https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/the-golconda-overview-of-phases.528650/ , there should be (will be) a couple of megaships in system. One fed, one imp. Sign up to the CG/II and then deliver the required goods to the megaship of your choice.
Once the CG is over, you will be able to get increased brownie points and cheaper ships from the winning faction between 5. and 18. December.

More information about the Interstellar Initiative here.

But only if your faction wins, right?

Edit: nvm, you already said it. Is there someway to check the score?

Out of interest, what if I do a mission or two for the 'other side' in Upiniklis? Will I get a discount if they win? And what do I get from the Empire if we don't win? We shouldadequately be rewarded either way really!

Yes go to either ship, cllick on community goals and it's all there. Disappointed in lack of support for the dark side tbh!
Have to disagree with about 4000 contributors between them the Federation and Empire are quite well supported.

You will be considered a mercenary “so and so” and will fit right in, yes supporters of the winning side will get access to the rewards, if the Empire considers the loss your fault you might be stuck with their bill and forced into Imperial Slavery to work off the debt, competitive CGs pay off at the level reached nowadays, I think, but it used to be the case that you only got the money the trades earned

Thanks guys, found everything. Participating for the Federation! Just hauling polymers back and forth atm, in solo just to be safe. Do you guys do these things in open?

I tend to have troubles in Private Group when there are too many players in the system so often do these in Solo however as there is only one large landing pad on the mega-ships people are also using Solo to reduce the chances of it being in use when they want to dock, less of a problem for small and medium ships of course.

I rarely use Open as I have little or no interest in spontaneous PvP.

Depends what you're hauling, how far you travelled to haul it and what your rebuy cost is if your ship gets burst open like a tin of beans on a bonfire.

I'm doing the CG in a Cutter with no shields, no hardpoints, and 752t of cargo space, there's no way i'm flying that thing in an open lobby... On the plus side in a solo lobby if by some miracle the large landing pads are taken you can just log out and log back in to reset your instance and land straight away. It's faster in the long run ;)
